The new year is here and a whole lot of Survivor entertainment is coming our way in 2025. From preparations for the franchise’s milestone 50th season to an international showdown to former castaways popping up on various other reality shows, 2025 is jam-packed with Survivor goodness.

Here at Inside Survivor, we’re highlighting all the Survivor-related content to keep an eye out for in 2025.

DEAL OR NO DEAL ISLAND – SEASON 2

The action kicks off on Tuesday, January 7, on NBC with the second season of Deal or No Deal Island. After the success of Boston Rob Mariano on Season 1, two more Survivor legends are taking a trip to Panama to battle with the Banker.

This includes four-time Survivor all-star and Survivor: Micronesia winner Parvati Shallow, making her second non-Survivor reality show appearance within the past year after competing on The Traitors Season 2. In addition, two-time Australian Survivor and All-Stars winner David Genat will make his American reality show debut as part of this season’s cast.

From the trailer (watch above), it looks like Parvati will be up to her old tricks as she channels her Black Widow persona.

THE TRAITORS – SEASON 3

The Traitors has become a battleground for former reality stars since it debuted on Peacock in January 2023. Across its first two seasons, past Survivors, including Cirie Fields, Stephanie LaGrossa, Parvati, and Sandra Diaz-Twine, have appeared in the infamous Scottish castle.

Season 3, premiering on Thursday, January 9, will feature the largest group of former castaways yet, including three past winners, Jeremy Collins, Tony Vlachos, and Boston Rob. Joining them will be Survivor 44 runner-up and stand-out Carolyn Wiger.

Peacock has already released a sneak peek at the opening seven minutes of the premiere, which reveals one Survivor player is not officially part of the game at the start.

Survivor also has representation on the legendary CBS trivia show Jeopardy! in 2025 as Survivor 45‘s Drew Basile will return to the Alex Trebek Stage for the show’s Tournament of Champions.

Drew impressed viewers when he appeared on Season 40 of Jeopardy! last June, winning seven consecutive games and taking home over $130,000. In doing so, he secured his spot in the highly-anticipated Tournament of Champions, where he’ll square off against other Season 40 multi-champs for the grand $250,000 prize.

AUSTRALIAN SURVIVOR – BRAINS V. BRAWN II

Australian Survivor looks to continue its streak of top-tier seasons when it returns for its 10th season in early February. Following the success of 2023’s Heroes v. Villains epic and 2024’s equally compelling Titans v. Rebels, the Aussies are returning to the Brains v. Brawn format that proved popular in 2021.

A group of 24 brand-new contestants will battle it out on the islands of Samoa in what Network 10 promises is “the most explosive season ever.” Will any of these newbies etch their names in the history books like George Mladenov and Hayley Leake in the first BvB? Only time will tell.

SURVIVOR 48

Survivor 47 wrapped up a highly-praised season in late December, and fans don’t have to wait long for the next US season. Set to premiere on Wednesday, February 26, Survivor 48 will again see 18 new castaways divided into three tribes to fight it out for the title of Sole Survivor and the $1 million prize.

The preview that aired during the Survivor 47 finale teased some big personalities, including Georgia-native Star Tooney, stunt performer David Kinne, and Discord engineer Kamilla Karthigesu. The clip also hinted at a medical emergency and a “historic moment” at Tribal Council.

SURVIVOR 50 CASTING

Perhaps the most anticipated Survivor news of 2025 will be who makes the cast of the monumental Survivor 50. While the season itself won’t air until early 2026, casting is already underway, with filming set for late May following the filming of Season 49.

Based on past returnee seasons, the cast should be confirmed by the end of February at the latest. As always, Inside Survivor will provide updates here and on our Patreon page. We will share the names here once the cast has been confirmed and flown out to Fiji.

Network 10/X

Australian Survivor is delivering a double dose of reality warfare in 2025. While an air date has yet to be confirmed, Network 10 will air a special shortened edition pitting some of Australian Survivor’s most memorable players against a tribe of international Survivor all-stars.

The cast, which was confirmed last year, features Aussie fan-favorites Shonee Bowtell, Luke Toki, David Genat, and more, while the World tribe features stars from the US (Tony, Parvati, Cirie), South Africa (Rob Bentele), New Zealand (Lisa Stanger) and beyond.

Rounding things out for the year is Survivor 49, which is set to film in April and air later in the year, most likely in September. As of writing, casting is still underway, with the application deadline set for January 15. Finals interviews are ongoing, and the cast will likely be confirmed around early February. Inside Survivor will have more details nearer the time.

Survivor 49 marks the last new player season before the all-returnee Survivor 50, which will land on CBS in early 2026.

One response to “Survivor in 2025 Preview – What’s To Come In The New Year?”

  1. Hello, the Americans should still try to change location a little because they have been in the same place for more than 15 seasons and as a result they are not renewing, maybe go to Papua New Guinea or go to the Philippines in Palawan (Quebec film there and the Israelis too) or even why not in Panama in Bocas Del Toro or Chiriqui Bay or even Indonesia (Raja Ampat) Andaman /Nicobar, Vietnam (Con Dao) that even if they do it in groups of 2 at least change a little because Fiji has been explored from top to bottom.
