Big Brother returns for its 28th season on Thursday, July 9, with a special 90-minute premiere, and some familiar faces are set to be involved.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Survivor: Edge of Extinction and Survivor 50 castaway Rick Devens will officially be added to the Season 28 cast on launch night. The outlet also reports that a second former Survivor player will join Devens to vie for the $750,000 prize.
Inside Survivor can reveal that second player is Survivor 45 winner Dee Valladares. Devens and Valladares become the second and third former Survivor castaways to compete on Big Brother, following Cirie Fields, who appeared on Season 25. Hayden Moss and Caleb Reynolds also competed on Big Brother, but before their stints on Survivor.
Devens and Valladares join a cast of 14 new houseguests, including Drag Race star Jason De Puy (aka Salina EsTitties), rocket scientist Mallory Aurichio, MMA fighter Kamuela “Kamu” Kirk, and Lyric Medeiros, daughter of 1980s pop singer George Medeiros.
“For Season 28, we’re throwing out all of the rules of time and space and sending our houseguests on a journey unlike anything you’ve ever seen before,” host Julie Chen Moonves said in a promo video introducing the Season 28 Time Trip theme. “From prehistoric times to iconic decades and unforgettable moments from Big Brother history, this house is packed with surprises around every single corner.”
In addition to two stints on Survivor, including the recent 50th season, Valladares also competed on The Challenge’s Vets & New Threats.
