Episode 13 Stats

Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor related statistics and information based off the latest episode of Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X.

Vote-out

  • Will was voted out 6-2.
    • This was the first time Will received any votes against him all season.
    • He went the longest out of all the castaways without receiving any votes.
  • Sunday was voted out 4-2-0.
    • Jay used a hidden immunity idol which negated one vote against him.
      • Sunday has had three of her votes (Jessica, Hannah, Jay) canceled out by hidden immunity idols.
    • Sunday was voted out on a Sunday. (Day 35, was on May 8th, a Sunday)
  • There was another voting triangle this episode.
    • Sunday voted for Jay, Jay voted for David, David voted for Sunday.
  • Other than the tie vote which sent Jessica home with the rock draw, David has successfully voted out every person he’s voted for this season.
  • Jay has only voted with the majority once during the merge (when he voted out Taylor)
    • During the pre-merge, he voted with the majority at both tribal councils he attended.
  • In the last three eliminations, the first name of the person who voted out was the last person remaining alphabetically.
    • Zeke, then Will, then Sunday.
  • Both seasons that were filmed in Fiji were the only two seasons in which everyone remaining had votes against them going into the final seven tribal council.

Confessionals

  • Adam had the most confessionals in this episode with 7.
  • Sunday is the only person not to receive a confessional this episode.

  • David is the only person left who got a confessional during the season intro. The others were Sunday, Zeke, Chris, Taylor, and Mari.

Hidden Immunity Idol

  • 3 of the 4 immunity idols this season have been unsuccessful.
    • David playing his idol for Jessica was the only successful one.
    • Jay is the only person this season to play his idol on himself.
    • This is the first season since Survivor: Cagayan with multiple unsuccessful idol plays.
      • No idols were played in Survivor: Kaoh Rong.
      • Four idols were successfully played in Survivor: Cambodia.
      • Three idols were successfully played in both Survivor: Worlds Apart and Survivor: San Juan Del Sur.
      • Previous to this season, Tony Vlachos was the last person to play an idol unsuccessfully, in Cagayan.

Tribes

  • There are three Millennials and three Gen Xers remaining.
    • Sunday was the highest ranking Gen X female.
      • She was also the oldest female this season.
    • Hannah is the highest ranking Millennial female and highest ranking female this season.
  • Adam recently revealed on Reddit that he suggested the name “Vinaka” for the merged tribe.
    • He said it was a throwback to Earl Cole from Survivor: Fiji who suggested it as a tribe name before they settled on Bula Bula. Also that it is a “nice name with a gracious meaning.”
      • As a reminder, “Vinaka” means “thank you” in Fijian.

Immunity Challenge – “Wizard’s Staff.”

  • Jay became the first person to win more than one individual immunity this season.
    • This challenge has previously been seen in Worlds Apart and Kaoh Rong.
      • However, each season it’s been played the final part was different.
  • Worlds Apart had a puzzle.
  • Kaoh Rong had them sliding tiles down a board into a slot.
  • Millennials vs. Gen X had them rolling discs down a board into a slot.
    • This is the first time this challenge was used as an individual immunity challenge.

Immunity Challenge – “Pinball Wizard.”

  • Ken has become the second person this season to win more than one individual immunity challenge.

Ratings

  • Episode 13 received 8.50 million viewers and 1.7/6 in the Adults 18-49 Rating/Share. It finished second in its time-slot behind Hairspray Live (NBC).

Title

  • The episode title “Slayed the Survivor Dragon” was not actually said in the episode.
