Episode 5 Stats

Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor related statistics and information based off the latest episode of Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.

Tribal Council

• Roark was voted out 3-2.
  • She’s the first original Soko member to be voted out.
  • This was the first vote this season which had a clear majority, but wasn’t a unanimous vote.
• She was voted out on Day 14 in Episode 5, which is the same day/episode Max Dawson was eliminated in during Worlds Apart.
  • Roark is friends with Max & Corinne Kaplan and has appeared on their podcast, All The Fixins.
• Ali, Jessica and Desi are the only women remaining without any votes cast against them.
  • Every woman on the Heroes tribe has had at least one vote against them.
• As with Katrina and Simone, Roark continues the trend in which each original starting tribe’s first person voted out was alphabetically last by first name.
  • Each one of them was voted out at the first tribal council they attended.
  • All three of them were the person on the far right in the official individual tribe photos.
• Game Changers is the only season filmed in Fiji where a male (J.T. Thomas) was the fifth person voted out.

  • Roark Luskin in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers
• Every social worker that has played Survivor was voted out before the merge, with the exception of Sally Schulmann in Panama. Other social workers include the following:

  • Tanya Vance from Thailand
  • Brice Johnston from Cagayan
  • Roark Luskin from Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers

Tribes

• Ben and JP are the only Heroes left in the game with zero votes against them.
• Everyone that has been voted out so far has been a different combination of starting tribe and gender:
  • Katrina, female Hero
  • Simone, female Hustler
  • Patrick, male Hustler
  • Alan, male Hero
  • Roark, female Healer
• With Roark being eliminated, Soko is the fourth tribe to have no original members left on the tribe at some point in the game. Others are as follows:
  • Maraamu in Marquesas (after Gina was voted out).
  • Mogo Mogo in All-Stars (after the tribe swap on Day 22).
    • Mogo Mogo is the only tribe in which this happened directly due to a tribe swap.
  • Nuku in Game Changers (after J.T. was voted out).
• Joe is the only male still in the game with votes against him.
  • However, those votes were cancelled due to him playing a hidden immunity idol.
• In the past three seasons with red, yellow and blue starting tribes, someone that started on the yellow tribe was voted out in Episode 5.
  • Max Dawson in Worlds Apart
    • Max is the only one to not be on the yellow tribe when he was voted out.
  • Anna Khait in Kaoh Rong
  • Roark Luskin in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers
    • Philippines is the only season with red, yellow and blue starting tribes in which a person from the yellow tribe was not voted out in Eepisode 5.

Hidden Immunity Idol

• Mike found a hidden immunity idol this episode.
  • Only people from the original Soko tribe have found hidden immunity idols.
    • Cole is the only male original Soko member to not find a hidden immunity idol this season.
      • He was there when Joe found the idol, but Joe is the one that owned it.
  • Levu is the only camp where the hidden immunity idol hasn’t been found yet.

Confessionals

• Chrissy had the most confessionals this episode with 5.

• Cole and JP are only people this episode that had 0 confessionals.
• Mike is the only person on Yawa that had more than one confessional this episode, while Ashley is the only person on Levu that had more than one confessional this episode.
• Roark, Patrick, and Simone all had 4 confessionals in their boot episode.
  • Alan & Katrina both had 2 confessionals in their boot episode.

Reward Challenge – “Head Long Flight”

• The title of this challenge is based on a song by Rush.
• This challenge was previously seen in Millennials vs. Gen X.
  • Thus, this challenge has only been used in seasons filmed in Fiji.

Immunity Challenge – “Rice Race”

• This is the first episode where Soko hasn’t won a challenge.
  • This is also the first episode where Soko lost the immunity challenge.
• Yawa came in first during this challenge, while Levu came in second.
  • In the reward challenge, the placements of these two tribes were reversed.
• This challenge has been previously seen in Worlds Apart and Kaoh Rong.
  • It’s only been used in seasons with three tribes.
  • It’s also only been used in a season with red, yellow, and blue tribes.
    • This is the first time the blue tribe has won this challenge.
    • A red tribe has always won this challenge.

      • To Tang in Kaoh Rong
      • Yawa in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers
  • Every time this challenge has been used, a woman was voted out at that episode’s tribal council.
    • Lindsey in Worlds Apart
    • Liz in Kaoh Rong
    • Roark in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers
      • Roark is the only one who was voted out by a majority, as the other two seasons had a 2-2-2 tie vote at tribal council.

Ratings

• Episode 5 received 8.22 million viewers and 1.7/7 in the Adults 18-49 Rating/Share.

Episode Title

• The episode title “The Past Will Eat You Alive” was said by Ben while talking about his PTSD.
