Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor related statistics and information based off the latest episode of Survivor: Ghost Island.

Tribal Council

  • Libby was voted out 4-1-0.
    • Michael used a hidden immunity idol, negating 7 votes against him.
  • Chelsea, Kellyn and Laurel are the only remaining players with a perfect voting record (Donathan had a perfect voting record until this episode).
  • Libby is the first female to become the second jury member since Cagayan.

    • Cambodia – Savage.
    • Kaoh Rong – Nick.
    • Millennials vs. Gen X – Taylor.

  • Jenna and Laurel are the only remaining original Malolo members who don’t have votes against them.

Ghost Island/Advantage

  • Jenna went to Ghost Island this episode, but didn’t get a chance to play the game of chance.
    • Chris and Kellyn are the only non-Malolo members to go to Ghost Island so far this season.

Merge

  • The merged name “Lavita” comes from a combination of the pre-merge tribes, Malolo, Naviti and Yanuya.

Hidden Immunity Idol

  • Michael was the first person this season to negate any votes with an idol.
    • He’s also the youngest player ever to play two hidden immunity idols.
    • Both times he played an idol, an original Malolo member was voted out.
  • Both times the “f-ing stick” was found it was found by a male in the minority. It was then played at tribal council and a female alliance member of the finder was voted out.
    • MicronesiaJason found it, it was fake, Eliza played it and went home.
    • Ghost Island – Michael found it, it was real, Michael played it and Libby went home.

Confessionals

  • Wendell had the most confessionals this episode with 6.
  • Chelsea, Desiree and Sebastian had 0 confessionals this episode.
    • Sebastian hasn’t had a confessional since Episode 6.
  • Michael is the only player remaining in the game that has had at least one confessional in every episode he’s been in.

Reward Challenge – “Gone Shootin”

  • This challenge has previously been used in Worlds Apart, Cambodia and Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.
    • This was the first time this challenge was done in which the targets were in the water as opposed to on land.

Immunity Challenge – “Buggin’ Out”

  • The “gross food challenge” has been used in multiple past Survivor seasons including Borneo, The Australian Outback, Africa, Marquesas, Thailand, The Amazon, Pearl Islands, All-Stars, Palau, Fiji, China, Samoa, Caramoan, Blood vs. Water and Cambodia.
    • This is the first time since Fiji that this challenge has taken place in a season filmed in Fiji.
    • This is only the fourth time it was used as an individual immunity challenge.
      • It’s been won by women twice and men twice. One newbie man, one returnee man, one newbie woman, one returnee woman.
        • The AmazonMathew von Ertfelda.
        • Caramoan – John Cochran.
        • Blood vs. Water – Monica Culpepper.
        • Ghost Island – Angela Perkins.
      • So far, everyone that won this challenge when it was played for individual immunity has made it to the Final Tribal Council.

Ratings

Episode Title

  • The episode title “The Sea Slug Slugger” was said by Wendell, referring to Angela’s impressive performance in the immunity challenge.
