Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor related statistics and information based off the latest episode of Survivor: Edge of Extinction.

Tribal Council

  • Keith was voted out 6-1-1.
      • He’s the first Keith to play Survivor and not make it to the merge/jury. The other Survivor Keith’s are as follows:
        • Keith Famie – 3rd Place – The Australian Outback.
        • Keith Tollefson – 11th Place – South Pacific.
        • Keith Nale – 4th Place – San Juan Del Sur, 5th Place – Cambodia.
  • There was a voting triangle in this episode.
    • Keith voted for Wendy.
    • Wendy voted for Kelley.
    • Kelley voted for Keith.
  • Chris, David, and Rick are the only players to vote correctly at both tribal councils so far.
  • Kelley and Wendy have received votes at both tribal councils they’ve attended.
      -In San Juan Del Sur and Edge of Extinction, Kelley received votes at the first two tribal councils she attended. She was voted out in San Juan Del Sur at her second tribal, but she survived her second tribal in Edge of Extinction.

Cast

  • Kelley is the only returning player this season to never be on a black tribe.
    • Joe was on Merica in Worlds Apart.
    • Aubry was on Dara in Kaoh Rong.
    • David was on Vinaka in Millennials vs. Gen X.
      • Neither one of Kelley’s previous seasons had a black tribe.
  • Other than David this season, the only other player to play with Aubry, Joe and Kelley was Ciera Eastin (coincidentally she is also a three-time player).
    • Ciera was on a tribe with all three of them at one point.
      • In Cambodia, she started on Bayon with Joe, and was swapped to Ta Keo with Kelley and Joe at the first swap. She then went on to the merge with both Kelley and Joe on Orkun.
      • In Game Changers, she started on Mana with Aubry.
        • Kelley is the only one of the three to never vote for Ciera, as Joe voted for her at the merge in Cambodia, and Aubry voted for her in the first episode of Game Changers.
  • Kelley and Joe have both been on the same starting tribe as Keith Nale and Jeremy Collins.
    • Kelley started with both of them on Hunahpu in San Juan Del Sur.
    • Joe started with both of them on Bayon in Cambodia.
  • Kelley and Aubry have both been on the same starting tribe as Jeff Varner.
    • Kelley started on Ta Keo with him in Cambodia
    • Aubry started on Mana with him in Game Changers.
  • Joe and Aubry have both been on the same starting tribe as Hali Ford.
    • Joe started on Nagarote with her in Worlds Apart
    • Aubry started on Mana with her in Game Changers.

Confessionals

  • David had the most confessionals this episode with 5.
    • Both episodes had their highest confessional count of 5, with Keith having 5 in the first episode.
  • Joe, Julia, and Ron had the least amount of confessionals this episode with 0.
    • Julia hasn’t had a confessional in either of the two episodes that have aired so far.
    • Chris had his first confessionals in Episode 2.
  • Reem had the same amount of confessionals (2) as six players that are still in the game, and had more confessionals than seven players that are still in the game.
    • The only players to have more confessionals than Reem are David, Kelley, Victoria, and Wardog.

Hidden Immunity Idol/Advantage

  • Lauren found a hidden immunity idol at Manu beach.
    • Both Laurens to play Survivor have found a hidden immunity idol.
      • Lauren Rimmer found one in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.
      • Lauren O’Connell found on in Edge of Extinction
    • Lauren is the youngest female to find a hidden immunity idol, being 21 when she found it.

Reward/Immunity Challenge – “Serpent Turf”

  • Aubry has played this challenge twice, once in Game Changers and once in Edge of Extinction.
    • She lost in Game Changers, and won in Edge of Extinction.
  • In San Juan Del Sur, Kelley’s tribe won the first two immunity challenges, while in Cambodia, her tribe lost the first two immunity challenges, just like in Edge of Extinction.
  • This is only the sixth time (out of a possible 18 times) that a yellow starting tribe has won the first two immunity challenges. The others are as follows:
    • Kota in Gabon.
    • Tandang in Philippines.
    • Galang in Blood vs. Water.
    • Gondol in Kaoh Rong.
    • Soko in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.
  • This is only the fifth time (out of a possible 19 times) that a blue starting tribe has lost the first two immunity challenges. The others are as follows:
    • Ulong in Palau.
    • Heroes in Heroes vs. Villains.
    • Salani in One World.
      • They “lost” the first immunity challenge when Kourtney was medically evacuated and Jeff gave Manono the option to continue with Salani down a member, or take the win, in which Manono decided to just take the win.
    • Matsing in Philippines.

Ratings

Episode Title

  • The episode title “One of Us is Going to Win the War” was said by Kelley when talking about the divide between her and Wendy.
    • Both episode titles so far have been said by returning players (Joe in episode 1 and Kelley in episode 2).

  1. I believe Kelley, Joe and Ciera were all on Ta Keo after the first switch in Second Chances. I think you said that only Kelley and Ciera were, but Joe was also on that tribe.
