Welcome to Season 48’s Next Time On Survivor weekly feature on the Inside Survivor site! If you’re new around here, I’m Steph from sunny, tropical, humid Singapore. This is a tiny space where I give my best attempts at understanding preview trailers and make my predictions for the show’s next episodes.
Most of the previews seem to be hyping a “Four v. Four” situation, as Mary puts forth to Mitch in the NTOS trailer. Out of the eight players left in the game, four have been in the majority “strong players” alliance—Joe, Shauhin, Kyle, and Eva. On the other hand, the other four players—Kamilla, Mitch, Star, and Mary—haven’t exactly been working together, though we’ve seen them aligned for some votes.
The sneak peek scene extends this “Four v. Four” idea as we see Star, Mary, and Kamilla discussing “a whole new revolution” at camp. Mary suggests that Mitch is a good candidate for the three of them to recruit to their side, considering that he’s at the bottom of the opposing alliance. It makes sense that the four underdog players group up to topple the control that the other four have been holding since the merge.
It’s definitely the obvious move going forward, especially for Mary, who just got blindsided when her closest ally, David, who was part of the core alliance, got voted out. It was clear that he was her bridge to Joe, Eva, and perhaps even Shauhin—without David, I don’t think she’ll make much inroads with them. In the trailer, Mitch seems to be in agreement, saying, “If you don’t make a move now, you don’t have a shot.”
On the other side of the tribe, we have some confessionals from Eva and Joe, sounding pretty confident about their position. Eva states, “I feel unconcerned with the next few votes,” while Joe declares, “I’ve never felt so solid.” The pair is indeed solid, knowing that they both trust each other. They’re also not afraid to show that they’re close, which likely affords them some flexibility in their plans, unlike a secret alliance purposely kept under the radar like Kamilla and Kyle’s. Not to mention, Eva has two advantages!
All signs from the preview trailers point towards the strong players alliance losing control in the next episode—we see the underdogs grouping up and declaring it’s time to make a move, as well as Eva and Joe being overconfident about their alliance.
That being said, all this seems for naught, as the episode description reads that “two players at the bottom begin to target each other.” I’m inclined to believe that the trailers were just edited to hype up a potential shift in power, as it’s more exciting than depicting the players at the bottom uneventfully getting picked off.
As such, I predict we’ll see Star and Mary target each other in the next episode. We’ve not seen them really interacting with each other before, so I feel like there may just not be a relationship with chemistry there. My other prediction is that we’ll see Kyle and Kamilla rise up to take control of the game. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of their secret alliance yet, and perhaps this is a good time when they are in the middle (again) to manipulate the numbers in their favour.

I think it is all up to Kyle and Kamilla. But Mary was targeting Kamilla before so Kamilla might be making her feel comfortable before a blindside. For the four on the bottom to make a move they need someone from the strong alliance to flip or to find an advantage and I don’t think either will happen this week. So I think it will be Mary leaving
Eve is taking them all down. And they don’t see it because she out playing them by being herself.they in gorca hack of a final tribal thatvwill swing the game to her.
