Immunity Challenge – “Get A Grip”

  • This challenge was previously used in Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Tocantins, Heroes vs. Villains, South Pacific, Blood vs. Water, Worlds Apart, Game Changers, Winners at War, and Survivor 45.
    • In previous seasons, it’s been won by an equal amount of men and women (six each).
  • This is the first time in the new era that nobody sat out during the pre-challenge rice negotiation.
  • Hunter is the first person to win this challenge while on a red tribe.
  • Hunter is currently tied with Erika (Survivor 41), Jonathan (Survivor 42), and Dee (Survivor 45) for most challenge wins in the new era with 9.
  • All three individual immunity challenge winners were on different starting tribes.
    • Kenzie started on Yanu, Maria started on Siga, and Hunter started on Nami.

Confessionals

  • Q had the most confessionals in this episode with 15.
    • This is the highest single-episode confessional count this season.
  • Ben and Maria had the lowest number of confessionals in this episode with 1 each.
  • Q has the highest total confessional count with 53.
    • A Yanu member has had the highest total confessional count after every episode so far this season.
      • Episode 1: Tiffany & Bhanu – 9
      • Episode 2: Tiffany – 19
      • Episode 3: Bhanu – 25
      • Episode 4: Bhanu – 35
      • Episode 5: Kenzie – 32
      • Episode 6: Kenzie – 36
      • Episode 7: Kenzie – 42
      • Episode 8: Q – 53
    • This was the first time since episode 4 that Kenzie didn’t have the highest total confessional count.
  • Tevin is the lowest placing contestant who had the first confessional in the season since Tony in Game Changers (who came in 19th place).
    • Everyone since Tony has come in 9th place or higher.

Tribal Council

  • Tevin was voted out 8-2.
    • The most recent player voted out 8-2 was David Wright in Edge of Extinction.
  • Tevin is the first player who was voted out by someone with the same last name as him.
    • Charlie and Tevin have the same last name (Davis).
  • Venus has received at least one vote at every tribal council she’s attended.
  • There’s now an even number of Nami, Siga, and Yanu players left in the game.
    • All three starting tribes also have at least one player of each gender remaining.
  • Survivor 45 and 46 both had an LGBTQ+ player voted out in 10th place.
    • Kellie came in 10th in Survivor 45.
  • Kenzie is now the only LGBTQ+ player left in the game.
    • Bhanu, Moriah, and Tevin have been voted out.
  • Tevin is the fourth player voted out while in possession of an extra vote.
    • Lauren in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers
    • Sebastian in Ghost Island
    • Aubry in Edge of Extinction
  • The three remaining Yanu players still have 0 votes cast against them.
  • At least one Nami player has received a vote at every post-merge tribal council so far.
    • Episode 6: Venus received a vote.
    • Episode 7: Hunter, Soda, and Venus received votes.
    • Episode 8: Tevin and Venus received votes.
  • Liz is the only remaining Nami player without any votes cast against her.

Episode Title

  • The episode title “Hide ‘n Seek” was said by Q (and other players) while playing hide and seek.
