Welcome to Season 48’s Next Time On Survivor weekly feature on the Inside Survivor site! If you’re new around here, I’m Steph from sunny, tropical, humid Singapore. This is a tiny space where I give my best attempts at understanding preview trailers and make my predictions for the show’s next episodes.
The NTOS trailer begins with Kyle ceremoniously reading, “The game is about to change. Drop your buffs!” followed by scenes of celebrations from the players. With 13 players left in the game, they’ve reached the merge, where we’ll see old alliances reunite and new relationships form.
A significant part of the NTOS trailer hints at a potential new alliance—we hear David saying, “We’re getting all the strong people together,” with quick shots of David and Joe, Kyle and Eva, Shauhin and David, David and Kyle connecting in pairs.
This is very possible, seeing how some of these players have already formed good connections with each other. Namely, Kyle, Joe, and Shauhin are in an alliance with one another from their time in the newly swapped Vula tribe. It was suggested that the three of them, alongside Kamilla, are going further in the game together. So, it only makes sense that they expand their alliance to recruit more people to form the majority in this merged 13-player tribe.
I predict they will successfully tide through the early merge portion of the game, but such an alliance built on strength will fall apart, especially when a challenge threat is identified. We’ve seen plenty of times how strong players hope to stick together, but it never really works out.
Another part key part of the trailer centres on Sai and how she’s continuing to rub people off the wrong way. We see Mary tell Joe, “She will gaslight you,” and while the cut doesn’t necessarily mean Mary is referring to Sai, I think it’s a fair guess that Mary and Sai will continue their rivalry rather than work together as Cedrek had hoped for.
I predict Sai will be an easy target to vote out in the next episode. Mitch and Chrissy were already annoyed by her and considered voting her out in the last episode. Further, the new Lagi tribe, consisting of Mary, Star, David, Charity, and Eva, noted her unnecessary comment about being humble when they won the last reward challenge. I think that Sai’s name will definitely be suggested as a possible vote.
However, the game is never that straightforward. With advantages and immunity in the mix, it’ll certainly complicate any seemingly easy decision. In the trailer, we see the players gathered around a signpost before running off. Typically, at this point of the game, a new advantage will be introduced for everyone on the new merge tribe to find. Seeing how competitive Sai was in previous episodes, I’m sure she’ll be eager to find this upcoming advantage.
To sum up my predictions for the next episode, I think that there are a few players that may be highlighted as potential targets. As mentioned above, I believe Sai would be one of them. However, I can’t really see her being voted out just yet, as there’s still unfinished business between her and Mary.
My next guess is that the merged players will consider breaking up Eva and Joe after the clear display of their alliance. However, if I had to choose, I think Star would be my top contender to be eliminated in the next episode. We haven’t really seen her make strong connections with other players, and even though she has given her immunity idol to Eva, I think she’ll still be a target.

I think Mitch might go home, It’s clear David, Kyle, and Kamilla aren’t keen on keeping him, and since all of Civa knows his extra vote, he seems like a good t.arget
True but I also think they know he is loyal and I think they would use him for a vote or two
