Survivor South Africa Season 8 Power Rankings (Round 12)

Jacques and Meryl make their Episode 13 predictions.

For the first time ever here on Inside Survivor, we will be bringing you Survivor South Africa Power Rankings. As the battle to outplay and outwit goes down on the Wild Coast of South Africa, another showdown will be taking place right here between two Survivor veterans.

Fighting it out for Power Rankings supremacy are two past Survivor SA castaways, both from Island of Secrets, Jacques Burger and Meryl Szolkeiwicz. Meryl finished in 13th place on Survivor SA, while Jacques made it to 7th place. But who will come out on top in the Power Rankings? Let battle commence!

In Round 11, Jacques ranked Wardah in 6th place, earning him 6 points. Meryl also had Anesu ranked in 6th place, earning her 6 points. Let’s see how this week turns out!

RULES

We use the Gordon Holmes format of Power Rankings. Each week the two power rankers create separate rankings based on least likely to most likely to be eliminated. The ranking of the player who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the rankers will earn. For example, if the person you ranked in 1st place is eliminated in the next episode, you will recieve 1 point. If the person you ranked in 20th place is eliminated, you will receive 20 points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the Power Rankings Champion.

1
Francois
Chappies has played himself into a position where he can probably win out challenges and get a seat at the end. However, at the current trajectory, it appears as if we might see a zero vote finalist. He's also shown to make fire in the dark, a skill that could be useful to navigate the fire idol that will come into play.
1
Tyson
There has always been something about Tyson that I was attracted to. A deep sense of self, and this episode, we saw him visibly rattled. It got very personal for him and he can either blow up the game or focus in and take it all the way. I think the latter applies here.
2
Nicole
She's currently in possession of the fire idol with six the last time to use it. If Nicole can use this for some strategic leverage, she is well poised to make an impressive run in the final four episodes. If she can check some cerebral tick boxes, it would look impressive on her CV next to her physical challenge traits she has utilised up until now.
2
Francois
Chappies (aka Candy thief, aka midnight feaster) is public enemy number one. He has his work cut out for him if he wants to get to the end, but I have seen this movie... his back is always against the wall and he manages to get out every episode. Plus, if it’s Chappies in a water/fire challenge, he wins hands down.
3
Kiran
If Kiran was a Hogwarts student, his best subject would surely be Divination. During the second half of this season, Kiran has anticipated and planned for every single event. No doubt he will find out about the fire idol and ensure that it is used with cunning and effectiveness. If he gets to the end, I believe it's a shutout win for him. Let's see if he can make it happen!
3
Nicole
Nicole probably has the biggest favour with the jury. She has proved that she is a challenge beast. She hasn’t been the most strategic and there are bigger threats around. She is also sitting with the fire idol.
4
Santoni
The wildcard that is Santoni cannot be underestimated. She has always found a way to survive, whether by game mechanics, deception, or social connections. Her biggest challenge right now is that she's seen as Chappies' right-hand gal. If he wins immunity, she is the obvious vote out to weaken him. Let's hope she spends the next couple of days maximising her fire-making skills! If she can survive that instance she will have a truly impressive resume, supplemented with a great underdog story.
4
Anela
Anela has been quiet this round. He hasn’t contributed to strategy talk much and he was sent away during tribal. He has quite a good relationship with Tyson and Kiran and I can see that they could form a voting block in the next round.
5
Tyson
Tyson has been on so many people's radar for a looong time. Yet he is still here! A player who is at his best when his back is against the wall. Last week's tribal showed some tempers flare from his side, which could cause him to be the target if they want to go after the Tyson/Kiran duo. I hope Tyson can keep his emotions in check this round and make a decision that is based on getting to the endgame in a graceful way, not in a way that is seen as vengeful or malicious.
5
Santoni
Santoni is also one of those players who has been on the chopping block since the beginning. But her interpersonal skills of seamlessly transcending through alliance has boggled me every week. I would like her to get to the end because she has played such an unconventional game, and her confessionals make me feel like I’m in on all the secrets.
6
Anela
Anela has been shown as the third wheel to the Kiran/Tyson duo. I believe if any idol shenanigans are at play, he will be seen as the easiest vote to mitigate the risk. However, he has been good at the challenges, if there's ever one to win and start carving out a road to the end, this round is the one!
6
Kiran
I’ve placed Kiran at the bottom for the last few weeks. He is just so good at this game and the numbers are not on his side. Even in the heat of the last tribal council, he was still able to be cool, calm, collected, and calculating.
