Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X

Power Rankings Round 8

Previously on Power Rankings…

In Round 7, Randy finished in first place, receiving 7 points for ranking Michaela in 7th place. Julia finished in second place with 4 points, and Martin came in third with 3 points. Martin remains in the lead with 102 points, Randy follows closely behind with 89 points, and Julia is last with 73 points.

The Rules

We use the Gordon Holmes format of Power Rankings. Each week the three power rankers create separate rankings based on least likely to most likely to be eliminated. The ranking of the player who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the three rankers will earn. For example, if Michelle is voted out in Episode 8, Julia will receive 10 points, Martin will receive 8 points and Randy will receive 1 point. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X Power Rankings Champion.

If a ranker wants to take a more strategic approach to their rankings they can play for…

Bonuses:

If the player ranked in 1st place finds an idol you gain 10 points.
If the player ranked in last place isn’t eliminated but receives a vote(s) against them you gain 5 points.
If the player ranked in 1st place wins individual immunity you gain 10 points (post-merge).

1
Michelle
Appears to be the arms over the head/bucket of water immunity challenge. Girls usually fair well in this one and Michelle is the strongest girl left in this sausage fest.
1
Adam
Entering the merge having a rocky relationship with Taylor and being questioned by Jessica, shouldn’t naturally put him as #1, however – if there is a new idol placed post-merge, I am confident Adam is savvy enough to find it.
1
Zeke
Zeke seems like he's covered on all sides. He has a bond with Chris and David, and had a connection with Adam which would lead him to Ken and Jessica. Plus I think the other Millennials will need him too.
2
David
If someone would have told me after the first episode that David would find two immunity idols and be in the driver’s seat by Episode 8, I wouldn’t have believed it.
2
Ken
Ken still seems like he is standing solid and strong. He’s positioned himself well with Adam, and has a working relationship with Jessica; I’d say he’s all set this week.
2
Sunday
Sunday is sweet and non-threatening heading into the merge, I can't see why anyone would target her just yet.
3
Hannah
Congratulations Hannah! Welcome to the final 3.
3
Jay
Although we saw a little devilish action from Jay last week, the only person he really hurt was Hannah (who, if we are being real, screams goat at this point). He’s got Will, Sunday & Bret on his side... and most likely will have Michelle and Taylor at the merge- not to mention an idol. Oh, and he’s a challenge beast. Yeah, I think its safe to say, golden boy is sitting pretty.
3
Adam
Even if Jessica is getting cold feet about working with him, I don't think she'll have much choice. Plus Adam has an idol, so should be safe.
4
Adam
Watch out Adam. Taylor says that he will destroy you. I would like to see that!
4
Zeke
Tight relationship with Chris, admired by David. Zeke is in the clear.
4
Ken
Ken had a quiet edit last episode which is usually a good sign going into the merge. I think the Gen Xers and Millennials will both try to sway him.
5
Ken
What are the chances of Ken/Jessica/Adam joining forces with Zeke/David/Chris? They would be unstoppable.
5
Sunday
Sunday is sweet and non-threatening, plus having a positive energy around camp has got to be comforting. She won’t become a target until someone realizes she has no blood on her hands.
5
Hannah
You know what, it's not easy having anxiety and I'm proud of how well Hannah's doing out there. She has a good read on people, like her cop call on Bret last week, and she isn't in the driver's seat right now which should allow her to slide through the merge.
6
Zeke
Zeke let us know about his inner fat kid this past week. I am hoping that inner fat kid is a villain. Zeke is too nice.
6
Hannah
On the flip side, Hannah’s freak-outs have to be a pain in the ass around camp – but they might as well keep her around too because she most definitely will not be an individual immunity threat, and honestly, why not drag the person who lacks self-control and needs constant support?
6
David
He's using his idol to form connections and so far it's working. He has Zeke and Ken, and Chris has said in the past he needs David's numbers. Plus he's just a decent guy, that should earn him some good will.
7
Jessica
Looks like Jessica’s conjunctivitis has cleared up nicely.
7
Jessica
To me, Jessica seems like a supporting role to Ken, Adam and Taylor’s story… I have a vibe come merge she might have a difficult time solidifying an alliance due to her constant questioning.
7
Chris
Just like Ken, Chris disappeared last week (apart from fartaggedon), and that could be a good thing for his chances.
8
Chris
Kind of an invisible episode for Chris. Chris is in perfect shape for the merge this week.
8
Chris
Chris kind of disintegrated into the background – it doesn’t seem as if he a pressing figure on anyone’s radar – including the audiences…
8
Michelle
If she can survive Fartaggedon you'd think she can survive anything but she's been mentioned as a target for a while now and the merge might be time to strike.
9
Will
If you want to win this thing Will you better start thinking for yourself and stop being Jay’s lackey. No one respects a coat tail rider.
9
David
David is just a nice dude, and I’m hoping that’s what will keep him safe at the merge. It’s those big personalities that cause the chaos first.
9
Jay
His vote was ice cold but it could lead to a slippery slope and I don't mean the type Taylor boards down.
10
Sunday
After losing the IC, Sunday professed to 30 minutes of silence. I am sure her tribe mates appreciated that. This strategy of not talking could take Sunday to the end.
10
Michelle
I’m still biting my nails when it comes to Michelle’s position, however I think Jay might be her saving grace.
10
Will
He can talk! He can talk! This sudden burst of air time before the merge could be a signal Will's game is about to come to an end. Perhaps the Millennial target if the others believe he's least likely to have an idol.
11
Jay
As entertaining as blindsiding Michaela was, I don’t think it was the right time and Jay will pay for it.
11
Taylor
Without Figgy you are actually bearable, however, you’re self-awareness is terrible.
11
Taylor
His over the top doofus edit suggests he'll be around longer but we can hope after last week's tragic boot this episode will give us what we want.
12
Taylor
Taylor claimed that he would destroy Adam. Let me think about this for a second. Adam is getting a winner/hero edit and Taylor is getting the idiot edit. No brainer. FORGET YOU. GO HOME. GOODBYE.
12
Will
I felt like a proud mom when you had your confessional. However as your screen time increases, I think your days on that island are numbered.
12
Bret
After his close call last week, it could be the episode for the sneaky cop's funeral.
13
Bret
Lots of attention paid to the cop/funeral director controversy. This is not a good sign.
13
Bret
Being the smokescreen potential boot last week, along with your “sneaky-sneaky” fake job description has me thinking it could be you.
13
Jessica
This season seems to be a women slaughter so why bet against that now? I think her trusting of Taylor could lead to her downfall.

  1. Puzzled by these rankings. We are going into a merge and surely the question is: how will the alliances shake out and who will end up in the majority and who will end up in the minority? (With 13 players left in the game there has to, minimally, be a 7-6 split.) Julia, in her entry on Jay, seems to think that he is sitting pretty because along with the remnants of the tri-force (Michelle and Taylor) he also has not only Will and Hannah (debatable, the last one) but also Brett and Sunday. I personally see no reason why we should assume Brett and Sunday are going to be loyal to Jay just because he used them to vote out Michaela. Why wouldn’t they take the opportunity, at the merge, to reconnect with Chris? And if they reconnect with Chris, does this mean David and Zeke as well? And if David and Zeke, as well, does this mean Adam-Ken-Jessica too? This is what I think might happen. BUT even if it doesn’t, and Julia is right that Jay ends up in a majority, how then do we end up with a scenario in which Brett, Will, Taylor and Michelle are in the majority (with Jay) but still the four most likely to go home??? This is a head scratcher for me.
