Champions v Contenders pits celebrities and sports stars against everyday Aussies in the ultimate battle of survival. This year’s season saw the likes of Olympic gold medalist Shane Gould, rugby star Mat Rogers, and even infamous Survivor US castaway Russell Hantz.

The theme proved popular for Channel Ten, with the 2018 series reaching its highest ratings since the network revived the format in 2016. The season finale was seen by more than 900,000 people; almost 100,000 more than the Season 2 finale in 2017.

Also announced at the event was the launch of 10 All Access, a new streaming and video-on-demand subscription service which will include past seasons of Survivor. Produced in conjunction with CBS, the service will feature CBS All Access original series in addition to a library of current shows, past seasons and classic TV hits from Network 10 and CBS.

Australian Survivor Season 4 is expected to begin filming in Fiji in late April 2019. Jonathan LaPaglia will return as host.

  1. I guess a smart choice for channel 10, since Aussies love to see recognizable faces. Hopefully they will balance the teams out a bit more next season

  2. nooooo!
why on EARTH are they doing the same theme back-to-back?
the last season actually turned out pretty solid, but the pre-merge was a snoozefest and the theme was definitely not THAT great to bring back immediately (if ever).
wtf, really, I was so looking forward to a classic season.
