Australian Survivor 2019 Power Rankings (Round 8)

Former castaways Fenella McGowan and Tess O’Halloran face off in the final round!

While the battle between Champions and Contenders is playing out on the islands of Fiji, here on Inside Survivor, an even bigger showdown is taking place. That’s right, Aussie Power Rankings are back, as Fenella McGowan, Tess O’Halloran and Martin Holmes compete for the Inside Survivor Power Rankings crown!

This season of Australian Survivor Power Rankings has been all about the dominance of Tess. The Aussie Survivor veteran has been at the top of the rankings every single week—and Round 7 was no different. It would take a small miracle for Fenella or Martin to topple Tess as we head into the final round. But it’s not impossible… it would just mean Tess getting every placement wrong and the others getting everything right.

FINALE RULES

The finale works a little bit differently. The rankers will rank the four finalists in order of placement, and they will gain 3 points for every correct placement. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the Australian Survivor Power Rankings Champion.

Pia
Why else would we have seen her confessional in the first ep saying she'd either go first or win if she wasn't winning?! I'll be SOooOoO surprised if I'm wrong!
1
Luke
Come at me, friends. This might cost me the win, but it's worth it. The only place KOTJ is not coming is runner up, and his game deserves more than to be ranked 3rd or 4th, so here we are. Congratulations Lukey, whatever happens this week, you have played hard, played smart, and never lost the love of the game that charmed even my icy heart. Finish it!
1
Pia
Here's the thing: I think Pia would be a very good winner. She's played a stellar social game, managed her threat level and showed an expert level of perceptiveness (although that's slipped slightly the past couple of episodes). But the reason I'm ranking her first is all edit. I believe if she wasn't the winner, then her style of gameplay wouldn't have been constantly referenced and hyped up in the edit. She would have been far more in the background.
2
Baden
I don't see Pia winning against Luke or Harry, so its gotta be Baden sitting next to her at the final tribal. I'm sure Baden has pulled moves out there, but the quieter games never get a favourable edit, so I can only go off what I've seen on the telly. And the telly is telling me that Pia has been a little more stealth-like in the strategic game and far more likeable in her social. With that said: I CAN SEE STRAIGHT THROUGH HER LAUGH AND IT KILLS ME. :/
2
Baden
I feel like we had the preview for Baden's jury speech pre-merge. Part one of the sweeping story arc of a young PhD student who adventures into the jungle to learn important life skills such as coconut cracking. I actually think that story could have won a few votes, but not against any of these exceptionally strong final four.
2
Baden
Of the four remaining, I think Baden has the least chance to win, but the best chance of making it to the Final Tribal. Pia wouldn't beat Luke in the Final 2, and I doubt she'd win over Harry either, so that leaves Baden. The young PhD student has played a decent game. He overcame his early insecurities and grew in confidence throughout the season. He made bonds, did well in challenges, and played the middle brilliantly. There are two main problems for Baden. Firstly, a lot of his game was done behind the scenes, and unlike Pia, he doesn't have someone like Janine on the jury who could speak to his gameplay. Secondly, I think he played the background game too long and missed his chance to step into the limelight.
3
Luke
GAH. LUKE, IF I'M RIGHT AND YOU COME THIRD I STILL THINK YOU'LL DO BETTER THAN ANY OF THE OTHER PLAYERS BECAUSE SURELY YOU MUST GET SOME FORM OF ENDORSEMENT OUT OF THIS! Luke's game has been phenom! However, the final challenge usually favours the shorter, smaller person, so I think this may be the first challenge you lose in a long time. And I don't see anyone wanting to sit next to you because let's face it, WHO WOULDNT GIVE YOU THE MONEY?! Fingers crossed I'm wrong. I have enjoyed watching your game SOOOO much. WELL DONEEEE LUKEY BOY!!! :))))))))))))
3
Pia
I adore Pia. She's held the top spot for a lot of my rankings, through incredible game awareness and pure pluck. She always seemed to be whispering in just the right ear at just the right moment. I'd be thrilled with a Pia win, and there is definitely a case to be made for it---not just in the edit, but with her past performance in endurance challenges. It just doesn't fit my narrative with Luke coming out first place; for this to happen, he needs to win at 3, and I don't see him taking Pia, who has been called out as a social threat and has a few clear jury votes as well as a scary articulate jury advocate in Janine.
3
Harry
Back during the Dirty Harry vs. Godmother wars of the pre-merge, I never expected the ice-cream man to make it this deep. The best part is, he didn't even need an idol to make it to Final 4---that's a testament to Harry's knack for Survivor. However, I don't think anyone would want to sit next to Harry's amazing story of cockroach-like survival at FTC. He would almost definitely beat Baden and Pia and perhaps even give Luke a run for his money. Harry would need to take himself to the end because nobody else will.
4
Harry
I think Luke may win one more challenge and because of this, I reckon Harry will be the next target. He's the most strategic out of he, Pia and Baden, so it would make sense to get rid of him. Albeit he's not that great at challenges, Pia and Baden aren't that much better, so if you weigh up everyone's game, Harry's is the best out there aside from Luke's. Good on Harry though, I've learned to love the man despite that f**king stick. Honestly. I get it, he's paying homage his fave player but surely production could've given him a popsicle stick so he could have his own spin on it!? Anyways. I loved his fake son, hated the stick schtick and respected his strong sock game. Noice work Harry!
4
Harry
Only one of Luke and Harry is making it out of final four alive (melodramatic, ok, but this season has me feeling it), and since I've put Luke in number 1, it only makes sense to follow through. Har-roach has been a joy to watch, and I do feel some roachy solidarity with him, but I think he has finally run out of dark corners to hide.
4
Luke
It hurts to do this, especially after that incredible move he pulled last week. There is nothing I would love more than for the King of the Jungle to claim his rightful crown. Unfortunately, Australian Survivor is a thousand days long, so it means making it to the end as a big threat is near impossible. As soon as Luke doesn't have that necklace, he's toast. The others would be foolish to sit next to him at FTC. So I'm preparing myself for the heartbreak already.

  1. Umm….sorry to say this but clearly Tess wins….all put Baden in same spot, meaning if it’s correct or wrong, maximum score gotten by other than Tess will be 9 –> no chance, mate….
