Welcome to the new-look Inside Survivor. Take off your shoes. Have a look around.
For the past few months, we’ve been working on rebuilding and redesigning the Inside Survivor website. Yes, as you can see, we’re now in dark mode! And we have a brand spanking new logo too!
But changes haven’t just been made aesthetically but also in functionality and usability. The plan was to make the site more user friendly and simpler to navigate while also been easier on the eye. We’ve also moved over to a new server, which should make the site run faster and smoother.
In terms of content, all your favorite weekly articles can still be located in the Weeklies section, where you will find Episode Recaps, Edit Bay, Stats, etc, in the scrollable sub-categories menu at the top of the page. The same is the case for all our International content and Features (Interviews, Rankings, etc.).
To kick-off the relaunch day, we have a new 20 Years of Survivor piece ranking the 20 Best Non-Winning Games of all-time. And later today, our newest contributor Gia Worthy highlights the recent calls for diversity on reality-tv with her perspective on Blackness in Survivor.
Also, with no new Survivor for the rest of 2020, we’ve decided to cover the upcoming Big Brother All-Stars season. Our coverage will begin next week with Episode Recaps, Stats, and Power Rankings. All of our Big Brother content will be contained in its own sub-section of the site.
However, that doesn’t mean our Survivor content is going to stop. There are more 20 Years of Survivor articles in the pipeline, and we’re currently brainstorming fun Survivor content ideas for the fall. Just because there is no Survivor on TV, doesn’t mean we stop talking about our favorite show!
Lastly, I’d personally like to thank all of our loyal readers for helping Inside Survivor become what it has over the past five years. I honestly never thought when I first launched the site that it would last this long. It was just meant to be somewhere I could gather all my cast spoilers and episode recaps into an easily manageable spot. I didn’t expect it to gain that many readers, and I certainly didn’t expect to be still going five years later with ten seasons under our belt, thousands of articles, and an incredible team of contributors.
I’d like to give a special shout-out to all the people who have subscribed to the Inside Survivor Patreon. As you know, the coronavirus pandemic has hit many businesses hard, and so your contributions mean a lot. This website redesign and the continued growth of Inside Survivor is possible because of you! So, again, thank you.
Here’s to five more years and beyond!
