- Team reward challenges are usually decided by a schoolyard pick but Jeff Probst allowed the castaways to decide their own teams due to animosity back at camp.

- Used previously in Gabon, Redemption Island, and Blood vs. Water.
- Every time this challenge has been used it was won by the youngest person of their gender on their season.
- Julia is the youngest castaway ever to win individual immunity.

- Episode 9 received 8.39 million viewers and 1.9/7 in the Adults 18-49 Rating/Share.
Other
- The title of the episode “Psychological Warfare” was said by Jason about his and Scot’s revenge on the other castaways for blindsiding Nick at the previous tribal council.
