Survivor: Kaôh Rōng Episode 5 – Stats and Figures

Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor related statistics and information based off the latest episode.

Vote-out

  • Anna is the first person named Anna to play Survivor.
    • She is the 3rd professional poker player to be on Survivor.
    • She’s the only female professional poker player to be on Survivor.

Tribal Council

  • Anna’s vote out was similar to Alexis’ in Survivor: Cagayan the previous BvBvB season.
    • They were both voted out unanimously after turning on their fellow tribe mate after a tribe swap.
    • Both of them were blindsided and thought that they had a majority.

Tribes

  • In every 3-tribe season with a red/blue/yellow starting tribe color scheme, every single color has now been dissolved.
    • Matsing (blue) in Philippines.
    • Masaya (yellow) in Worlds Apart.
    • Totang (red) in Kaôh Rōng.
  • Totang is the 11th tribe to be dissolved.
    • This is the first time that a red tribe has been dissolved.
    • Totang was on the same beach as the Ankgor tribe, which was also dissolved.
      • Totang and Angkor were also the tribes that had to vote out the most people during the three-tribe portion of the season.
  • In both BvBvB seasons, the Beauty tribe (Solana & Gondol) haven’t been the one dissolved.
  • Post-swap Chanloh has one person of each gender from each starting tribe.

Planet Buff Offer

Swap

  • Julia is the 2nd person to be the lone member of a tribe.
    • Stephenie in Survivor: Palau was the last remaining member of Ulong.
  • Julia is the first person in 15 seasons to be “exiled” after an odd-numbered tribe swap.
    • The last person was Sugar in Survivor: Gabon.
  • Scot is the 7th person to be the only member of their former tribe on a new swap tribe.
    • Sarah in Cagayan was the only Brawn member on the new Aparri tribe.

Challenge

  • The immunity challenge is a never before seen challenge but followed a typical challenge format.
    • Swim out to retrieve puzzle pieces.
    • Untie puzzle pieces.
    • Put together puzzle.

Other

  • The title of the episode “The Devils We Know” was said by Aubry Bracco.

  1. Has there been a season prior that has had so many consecutive women voted out? Apart from Darnell in week one, it’s been all women. Caleb was taken out, so doesn’t count.

    • The first five people voted off in Fiji were all women, as well as the first four in Gabon and Panama.

  2. Hmm, not sure I’d agree that Anna thought she had the majority. She thought she might survive through an idol play with a minority or at best an even split.

    • I agree with you. Unless there is something I don’t know. The plan was a 3-3 split vote for Peter and Anna. Tai would play his idol for Anna sending Peter home.

      3-3 is a tie, not a majority.
