Next Time On Survivor – Episode 12

Tillie Reilly makes her predictions for the next episode of Survivor: HHH.

Hey guys, it’s time for this week’s Next Time on Survivor. Before I jump into looking at the previews for this week, I wanted to check out the outcome of the predictions I made for the previous episode.

Previously on Survivor…

The game began to take off finally as the alliance of seven broke apart. After last week, Ben deserves an Oscar for the way he held himself together and managed to not reveal to Joe that he was in on the plan the whole time. He could use a little work on his ‘shocked’ face at tribal though. I’m pretty excited and hoping that in the next few Ponderosa videos, someone tells Joe that Ben was playing him the whole time because I bet his reaction will be great.

Last week, I speculated and predicted that Joe was guaranteed to go home and that JP could be a victim as well. Obviously, that would’ve made for the worst case scenario because what could’ve been an exciting ‘blindside’ episode only led to JP being the one blindsided. I also predicted that Ryan would begin to take some shots, but that he wouldn’t go home.

Also, in the last episode, Ben found an idol that absolutely nobody knows about, which is perfect timing for him because his supposed allies Lauren, Devon, and Ashley are considering voting him out knowing he will win if he makes it to the end. Which is where I will pick up going into Next Time….

Making gifts for a friend

In the preview for this week’s episode, we see Ben making a fake immunity idol and showing it to Devon. If you listen real carefully, as Devon is looking at the fake idol, the commercial says “make gifts for a friend.” Now you can only believe that Ben made the fake idol solely to give to someone else. Having a real one and a fake one can be pretty powerful if he uses it the right way. Chrissy also has a fake idol (or a defunct real idol), and it seems like a lot of people are still waiting for her to implement it into her game.

Looking more into the preview, Ben is a secret spy hiding behind the trees by the well and listens in on Ashley, Devon, and Lauren talking. If Ben was completely confident in those three, why would he feel the need to spy on them?

Last week, Lauren brought up the idea of blindsiding Ben. Ashley agreed with the idea and Devon looked to be seriously considering it. I wouldn’t be surprised if the trio continued to try and go full force in getting Ben out this week as well. It wouldn’t be bad timing for a blindside if they wanted to do it. Ben believes he is 100% with Ashley, Devon, and Lauren, Lauren has an extra vote, Ryan doesn’t have an idol anymore, and Mike is lonely.

Not going to roll over and die

After Ryan played his idol last week, it’s only fitting that they toss another one into play this week. After looking at the press photos, I noticed the picture of tree bark with a clue painted on it. Then looking at the sneak peek of this week’s Immunity Challenge, they reveal an idol hidden in the challenge under a shell. Originally I wasn’t sure who would’ve been the one to find the clue, but Martin pointed out to me that the shell is in front of Lauren’s podium in the challenge. So we can only assume now that she found the clue.

Overall, looking at Lauren’s game, I need to give her props for how she’s playing. I thought she would’ve been out pre-merge easy and never would’ve expected her to be calling shots on Day 31. Do I think she’s going to win? Still no. But I wouldn’t be surprised at this point if I’m wrong on that.

Also going into this week, we get the family visit! Ever since they started hiding idols in the challenges in Cambodia, I always thought that adding a hidden idol or advantage during the family visit for the family member to find would be a fun twist and addition to the game.

Predictions

Who will win immunity?

Looking at the sneak peek and the challenge layout, Ryan complains of his arms hurting almost instantly. I don’t think he has a chance to win. The three biggest contenders for this week’s immunity I suspect will probably be Lauren, Ashley, and Chrissy. Watching past challenges, those three women seem better at endurance than the four men left in the game.

Will a clue or idol be found?

Absolutely. No doubt a clue will be found this episode. We can go by the fact the idol is sitting next to Lauren’s podium that she found the clue, but can she dig deep to pull it off and grab it without anybody noticing her? I think she would grab it even with people watching her if she had to.

Will an idol or advantage get played?

I think Lauren is saving the extra vote for when she tries to get Ben out. I think this week would be good timing seeing as she holds the extra vote and (possibly) the idol while dealing the cards in this game for the trio alliance.

Who is on the chopping block?

Mike at this point is sitting in the place of JP. He is kinda just ‘there’ this episode since he is the last Healer standing and there are much bigger targets left. I think his best move will be to talk it out with Ryan and Chrissy to try to build an alliance there.

I think one possible target may be Ben if Lauren, Ashley, and Devon decide to go through with the blindside… or it may be Devon. I’m bringing up Devon’s name because his edit reminds me a little bit like Will Wahl’s. Will finally decided to go play and make ‘Big Movez’ but then he got kicked to the curb, and this is how I see Devon’s game going for him.

Winner Prediction After Episode 11

I’m still sticking with Ben, but I wanted to make a note. A few weeks ago, I said that winner edits tend to have a spike in confessionals around 8-10 and Devon had 9 confessionals during Episode 11. Looking at his previous confessional counts throughout the season, he had six episodes with 1 confessional each, which is pretty low. At this point, Devon is either getting the Will Wahl edit and going down this week, or he has the surprising Sarah edit where she had three episodes with 0 confessionals, and she ended her season winning with 12 confessionals an episode.

  1. In Episode 12, Ben became the first player in Survivor series history to save himself from a unanimous vote-out with a HII.

  2. I don’t think Chrissy’s Fake idol will come into play. The way secrets are this season I assume everyone knows about it.
When is this usually posted? Cause the last 2 weeks I see it after the episode airs
