Today, we are looking at Survivor 42 castaway, Jonathan Young.

- Jonathan is the only player from Survivor 42 to return so far. He’s one of seven players to be the sole returning player represented from his season. The others are as follows:
- Shii Ann is the only returning player from Thailand.
- Yau Man is the only returning player from Fiji.
- Brenda is the only returning player from Nicaragua.
- Wendell is the only returning player from Ghost Island
- Bruce is the only returning player from Survivor 44.
- Genevieve is the only returning player from Survivor 47.
- Jonathan, Genevieve, & Chrissy are the only players this season who have no prior connections to another castaway.
- Jonathan, Rick, Stephenie, Cirie, Aubry, Rick, Mike, Kamilla, Rizo, & Savannah have participated in a firemaking challenge.
- Aubry, Mike, Stephenie, & Savannah are the only ones this season to win the challenge.
- In 2007, Jonathan was on the 6th season of Endurance (a teen version of Survivor)
- His season of Endurance was also filmed in Fiji.
- He was eliminated on Endurance and Survivor 42 right before the finals after losing a challenge. Both challenges involved fire.
- Jonathan was originally cast for Survivor 41 before the COVID pandemic put Survivor production on hold.
- Jonathan is one of nineteen players to cast the sole vote for the runner-up in a season.
