Merge
- Niu Nai is the 31st blue tribe on Survivor and the sixth blue merge tribe.
- Blue is the most commonly occurring tribe color on Survivor, with yellow being the second most at 26.
- Survivor 44 and Survivor 46 are the only new era seasons without a blue tribe.
- Fiji, Millennials vs. Gen X, Ghost Island, Survivor 44 and Survivor 46 are the only seasons set in Fiji without a blue tribe.
- Other than the rarely seen colors (pink and brown), yellow is the only color not represented in a merged tribe in the new era.
- Niu Nai is the eighth tribe that starts with the letter “N” and the third “N” merged tribe after Nuinui (Survivor 46) and Nobag (Gabon).
- Niu Nai is Chinese for “Cow’s Milk.”
- Niu Nai is the fifth tribe to have its name come from the Chinese language. The others are as follows:
- Zhan Hu, Fei Long, & Hae Da Fung in China.
- Yin Yang in Heroes vs. Villains.
Split Tribal Council
- This is the fifth time that a split tribal council resulted in two players from the same starting tribe being voted out.
- Jenna & Michael from Malolo in Ghost Island
- Aaron & Missy from Lairo in Island of the Idols
- Rocksroy & Tori from Ika in Survivor 42
- James & Ryan from Coco in Survivor 43
- Sai & Cedrek from Vula in Survivor 48
- Survivor 41 and Survivor 46 are the only seasons where that season’s winner went to the first tribal council during the split.
- Erika and Kenzie went to the first tribal council and Wendell, Tommy, Maryanne, Gabler, and Dee went to the second tribal council.
- This is the fourth season in a row where two Black players were voted out at the split tribal council, and the fifth overall including Aaron & Missy in Island of the Idols
- James & Ryan in Survivor 43
- Sifu & Kaleb in Survivor 45
- Tim & Soda in Survivor 46
- Sai & Cedrek from Vula in Survivor 48
- Ghost Island is the only season where no POC were voted out during the split tribal council.

Reward/Immunity Challenge – “Wrist Assured”
- Variations of this challenge were previously used in Philippines, Blood vs. Water, Worlds Apart, Survivor 43, Survivor 46, and Survivor 47.
- Carter in Philippines and Kyle in Survivor 47 are the only players to win this challenge and not make it to the final three of their season.
- Joe and David broke the record for longest time lasting in this challenge with 52 minutes.
- The previous record holder was Gabler in Survivor 43 with 38 minutes.
- This is the first time this challenge was won by two men.

- Worlds Apart – Mike & Carolyn won
- Survivor 47 – Sue & Kyle won
- Cedrek holds the record for shortest time lasting in this challenge, losing after 20 seconds.
Confessionals
- Mitch had the most confessionals this episode with 10.
- Mary had 0 confessionals this episode.
- Kyle has the most confessionals of the remaining players this season with 31.
- This is the first time someone other than Sai had the highest total confessional count.
- Chrissy has the lowest number of confessionals of the remaining players this season with 10.
- She’s the only player this season who’s never had more than two confessionals in an episode.
- Sai holds the record for most confessionals from a pre-juror with 53 total.
- She beat Andrew Savage’s record of 48 from Pearl Islands.
- Sai also holds the record for the most confessionals for a player in the first seven episodes of a season.
Tribal Council #1
- Sai was voted out 5-0.
- Sai received votes at six consecutive tribal councils, tying Rory’s record from Vanuatu.
- Sai holds the record for most votes received by a woman in the new era with 14.
- Kaleb in Survivor 45 is the only other player with more votes cast against him with 16.
- Since Survivor 43, every player voted out in 12th place has been BIPOC

- Mitch and Eva voted for Sai at all of the tribal councils they’ve attended.
- Stephanie also voted for Sai at her only tribal council she attended.
- Mitch is the fourth player to use the Vote Blocker advantage.
- He’s the first man to possess this advantage.
- 50% of the time it has been used, the player whose vote was blocked was voted out.
- Devon & Sam survived having their vote blocked while Jason & Sai were voted out.
- Every time the vote blocker was used, it was used on someone of the opposite gender than the holder of the advantage.
- Jessica used it on Devon in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers
- Elaine used it on Jason in Island of the Idols
- Rachel used it on Sam in Survivor 47
- Mitch used it on Sai in Survivor 48
- This is the first season where the mergatory boot and the final non-jury member were of the same gender.
- Survivor 43 – Elie was the mergatory boot and Dwight was the final non-jury member
- Survivor 45 – J Maya was the mergatory boot and Sifu was the final non-jury member
- Survivor 46 – Moriah was the mergatory boot and Tim was the final non-jury member
- Survivor 47 – Rome was the mergatory boot and Tiyana was the final non-jury member

- Cedrek was voted out 5-1.
- Mary is the only original Vula player left.
- Mary is only one of four players that is the last remaining member of her original tribe by the final 10.
- Ozzy was the last remaining player from Aitutaki at the final 13 in Cook Islands.
- Cirie was the last remaining player from Casaya at the final 12 in Panama.
- Emily was the last remaining player from Lulu at the final 10 in Survivor 45.
- Cedrek is the only Vula player that Mary voted out.
- She voted for Sai at the first tribal council (Stephanie boot).
- She didn’t have a vote at the second tribal council (Kevin boot).
- She used her shot in the dark at the third tribal council (Justin boot).
- She wasn’t at the tribal council where Sai was voted out.
- Chrissy, Kamilla, Kyle, and Star are the only players with perfect voting records.
- In all three seasons where two players were voted out on day 14 (Survivor 45, 46, & 48), both players were Black.
