Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor-related statistics and information based on the latest episode of Survivor 47.

Hidden Immunity Idol

  • Sam was the only player not to use his limited-use idol this season.
    • Gabe and Rome both used theirs at the first opportunity they could.

Reward Challenge – “Climb Mate Change”

  • This was the first time that pre-merge tribes swapped into teams to play in a reward challenge without having it be an official tribe swap.
    • All players went back to their original three tribes after the reward.
  • Variations of this challenge were previously used in Cagayan, San Juan del Sur, Ghost Island, Island of the Idols, Winners at War, and Survivor 41.
    • This is the first time a yellow team/tribe has won this challenge.
    • Coincidentally, the yellow tribe (Gata) lost the immunity challenge in this episode.
  • Gata is the only tribe where multiple players won and lost the challenge.
    • On Tuku, Gabe was the only player to lose.
    • On Lavo, Teeny was the only player to win.

Immunity Challenge – “Drag Race”

  • Variations of this challenge were previously used in Cagayan and Millennials vs. Gen X.
    • Both challenges in this episode were used in Cagayan.
  • Every team/tribe that won this challenge had at least two men on the winning team/tribes.
    • Cagayan – Woo and Spencer’s team won.
    • Millennials vs. Gen X – Adam, Jay, Taylor, Will, and Zeke from Vanua won.
    • Survivor 47 – Gabe & Kyle from Tuku and Rome and Sol from Lavo won.

Confessionals

  • Andy and Sam had the most confessionals this episode with 6.
  • Rachel, Kyle, and Anika had the lowest number of confessionals with 1.
    • Episode 3 is the only time that Kyle had more than 1 confessional.
  • This is the first episode since the premiere where everyone got at least 1 confessional.

Tribal Council

  • Anika was voted out 3-1.
    • She’s the second player in a row to be voted out without being able to vote after Kishan in episode 4.
  • She’s the first person since Helen in Survivor 44 to be voted out 3-1.
  • Anika received a vote from every player on her tribe except for Rachel.
    • Jon voted for her in episode 1.
    • Andy, Sam, and Sierra voted for her in this episode.
  • All three players from California this season have been voted out.
    • Jon and Anika are from Los Angeles and Kishan is from San Francisco.
  • Anika is the first player to be voted out on day 10 since Paul in Millennials vs. Gen X.
    • She’s the second woman to be voted out on day 10 after Laura in Caramoan and the third woman overall to be eliminated on day 10 after Bi quit in David vs. Goliath.
  • Day 10 of Survivor 47 was on May 22nd, which was the same day that the finale of Survivor 46 aired.
  • Anika is the third Asian-American player in a row to be voted out in 14th place after Brando in Survivor 45 and Jem in Survivor 46
    • Swati was also voted out in 14th place in Survivor 42.
  • Episode 2 is the only time an Asian-American player didn’t receive a vote against them.
    • This is because Tuku went to tribal council and they don’t have any Asian-American players.
      • Episode 1 – Anika received a vote
      • Episode 3 – Sol received a vote
      • Episode 4 – Kishan received votes
      • Episode 5 – Andy & Anika received votes.
        • Rachel is the only Asian-American player to not yet receive a vote.
  • In seasons 45, 46, and 47, Asian-American players were voted out back to back in episodes 4 and 5.
    • Survivor 45 – Sean & Brando
    • Survivor 46 – Bhanu & Jem
    • Survivor 47 – Kishan & Anika
  • Baka in Survivor 43 is the only new era yellow tribe to vote out only one person (Morriah) during the pre-merge portion of the game.
    • In Survivor 41, Yase voted out Abraham & Voce.
    • In Survivor 44, Lulu voted out Brandon & Sabiyah (Hannah also quit)
    • In Survivor 47, Gata voted out Jon & Ankia.

Ratings

Episode Title

  • The episode title “The Scales Be Tippin” was said by Genevieve in a confessional about Rome.
    • Genevieve is the first Lavo player to have an episode title.
