Reward Challenge – “Matt Finish”
- Variations of this challenge were previously used in Millennials vs. Gen X and David vs. Goliath.
- All three times it was used, a different number of people won.
- In Millennials vs. Gen X, it was a tribal reward challenge and 10 people won (the Vanua tribe and the Ika Bula tribe).
- In David vs. Goliath, it was a team reward challenge and two people won (Angelina & Nick).
- In Survivor 47, it was an individual reward challenge and one person won (Sam).
- All three times it was used, a different number of people won.
Immunity Challenge – “Paddle Out”
- Variations of this challenge were previously used in Philippines, Cagayan, San Juan del Sur, Millennials vs. Gen X, Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, David vs. Goliath, Edge of Extinction, Island of the Idols, and Survivor 43.
- Rachel is the first woman to individually win this challenge since Tasha in Cagayan and the second woman to do so overall.
- Both challenges in this episode have been previously used in Millennials vs. Gen X.
Confessionals
- Andy and Genevieve had the most confessionals this episode with 9.
- Sue had the lowest number of confessionals this episode with 2.
- Sam has the highest confessional total of the season for remaining players with 74.
- Sue has the lowest confessional total of the season for remaining players with 39.
Tribal Council
- Caroline was voted out 3-2-2.
- This is the first plurality vote since Danny was voted out in Survivor 44.
- Coincidentally, that vote count was also 3-2-2, and Danny placed 7th.
- This is the first plurality vote since Danny was voted out in Survivor 44.
- Caroline is the first player to be voted out on day 22 in the new era.
- The most recent player to be voted out on day 22 was Kellee Kim in Island of the Idols.
- Genevieve has received a vote at the last three tribal councils in a row.
- Sami in Survivor 43 and Danny in Survivor 44 are the only men in the new era to place 7th.
- Liana (41), Drea (42), Emily (45), Venus (46), and Caroline (47).
- One of the players that Caroline stated she would play like is Emily in Survivor 45, they both got 7th place in their seasons.
- Genevieve and Sam are the only players who have eliminated everyone they’ve cast a vote for.
- Genevieve is the only player who has voted at every tribal council she’s attended and voted only for the person who went home each time.
- Sue is the last remaining member of the Tuku tribe.
- Rachel is the only player without any votes against her.
Ratings
- The 11th episode received 4.601 million viewers and 0.65 in the Adults 18-49 demo.
Episode Title
- The episode title “Operation: Italy” was said by Andy (and Sam & Genevieve).
- This is Andy’s sixth episode title this season and his fifth in a row.
- He’s tied with Tony in Cagayan for most episode titles in a row with five.
- He’s also tied with Russell in Samoa for second most episode titles in a season.
- The only person to have more episode titles in a season was Tony in Cagayan with seven.
Survivor Birthdays
- This week’s episode aired on the following Survivor players’ birthdays:
- Shannon Elkins from Nicaragua.
- Chris Noble from Ghost Island.
- Ricard Foyé from Survivor 41.
