Season

  • Season 43 is the only new era season where the runner-up and 3rd place were of different genders (Cassidy & Owen)
    • Survivor 41: Deshawn & Xander
    • Survivor 42: Mike & Romeo
    • Survivor 44: Heidi & Carolyn
    • Survivor 45: Austin & Jake
    • Survivor 46: Charlie & Ben
  • Green is the only starting tribe color to not produce a winner in the new era.
    • Red: Dee (Reba)
    • Orange: Maryanne (Taku)
    • Yellow: Gabler (Baka)
    • Blue: Erika (Luvu)
    • Purple: Yam Yam (Tika) & Kenzie (Yanu)
      • Nobody from a green tribe has won a season since Yul in Cook Islands.
  • This was the third three tribe season where going into the final, the jury only consisted of members from two starting tribes
    • Philippines: Tandang & Kalabaw
    • Survivor 44: Soka & Ratu
  • Hunter is the only player this season to win individual immunity but not make it to the finale.

Hidden Immunity Idol/Advantage

  • This was the first season since Philippines where none of the finalists had an idol or advantage this season.
    • It’s the first season since the hidden immunity idol was introduced in Guatemala where nobody in the final 5 had an idol.
  • This is the first season since Kaoh Rong where no idols were played.
  • This is only the fourth season since the hidden immunity idol was introduced where no idols were played, following China, Tocantins, and Kaoh Rong.

Immunity Challenge #1 “Fifth Element”

  • Variations of this challenge were used in Borneo, The Australian Outback, Africa, Thailand, Pearl Islands, All-Stars, One World, Philippines, Millennials vs. Gen X, Survivor 43, and Survivor 45.
  • Kenzie is the third player to individually win this challenge and go on to win the season after Brian in Thailand and Kim in One World.
  • David Wright in Millennials vs. Gen X and Malcolm Freberg in Philippines are the only players to individually win this challenge and not make it to final tribal council.

Immunity Challenge #2 “Plinko Puzzle”

  • A version of this challenge was used in Millennials vs. Gen X.
    • Both challenges in this episode were used in Millennials vs. Gen X.
  • Both times this challenge was used, it was won by a man who made it to final tribal council but didn’t win (Ken & Ben).
    • Coincidentally, both of their names rhyme.
  • All of the even numbered new era seasons had someone win the final individual immunity challenge without winning a previous individual immunity challenge, while all of the odd numbered new era seasons had a final immunity challenge winner who had previously won at least one immunity challenge.
    • Survivor 41: Xander won the final immunity challenge and the immunity challenge in episode 9.
    • Survivor 42: Romeo won the final immunity without winning a prior one.
    • Survivor 43: Cassidy won the final immunity challenge and the immunity challenge in episode 10 & 12.
    • Survivor 44: Heidi won the final immunity without winning a prior one.
    • Survivor 45: Dee won the final immunity challenge and the immunity challenge in episode 7 & 12.
    • Survivor 46: Ben won the final immunity without winning a prior one.
      • Dee is the only new era winner who also won the final individual immunity challenge.

Tribal Council #1

  • Maria was voted out 4-1.
    • This was the first time she received votes this season.
  • Survivor 41 is the only new era season where the 5th place finisher was a man (Ricard).
    • Survivor 42 – Lindsay
    • Survivor 43 – Karla
    • Survivor 44 – Lauren
    • Survivor 45 – Julie
    • Survivor 46 – Maria
      • Maria, Karla, Lindsay, and Ricard were all voted out 4-1.
  • In the three most recent seasons, the players voted out in 5th place were mothers.
  • Maria was the only Siga member on the jury this season.
    • She, however, voted for a Yanu member to win over two Siga members.

Tribal Council #2/Firemaking

  • Liz is the only player to receive 0 votes against her this season without quitting or being medevaced.
    • Randen also received 0 votes, but he was medevaced in episode 3.
  • Liz is the only player in the finale who never won individual immunity.
  • There have been an even number of male and female 4th place players in the new era.
    • Male: Jonathan, Jesse, & Carson
    • Female: Heather, Katurah, & Liz
  • Randen is the only Nami member not to be on the jury this season.
    • Soda, Tevin, Hunter, Venus, and Liz were all jury members.
  • Liz is the fourth player to be eliminated at a tribal council without receiving any votes against her in the season. The others are as follows:
    • Paschal in Marquesas
    • Cirie in Game Changers
    • Kara in David vs. Goliath
  • Liz lost the fire-making challenge against Kenzie in the F4 fire-making twist.
    • She’s the 15th person to be eliminated from the game (outside of a quit, removal, or medevac) without a vote taking place at all.
      • Wanda and Jonathan in Palau were the first and second (not chosen during the initial schoolyard pick for tribes), Bobby Jon in Palau was the third, Devon in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers was the fourth, Angela was the fifth in Ghost Island, Kara was the sixth in David vs. Goliath, Rick was seventh in Edge of Extinction, Lauren Beck was the eighth in Island of the Idols Sarah Lacine was the ninth in Winners at War, Heather Aldret was the tenth in Survivor 41, Jonathan was the eleventh in Survivor 42, Jesse was the twelfth in Survivor 43, Carson was the thirteenth in Survivor 44, and Katurah was the fourteenth in Survivor 45.
        • Katurah, Carson, Jesse, Jonathan, Heather, Lauren, Rick, Kara, Angela, Devon, and Bobby Jon were eliminated due to a fire-making challenge.
    • Ian Rosenberger in Palau, Brandon Hantz in Caramoan, and Jeff Varner in Game Changers were eliminated without a formal vote but were still voted out.
  • Liz is the 18th player to lose a fire-making challenge at final 4.
  • Liz is the 19th castaway to be eliminated without being voted out, removed, quitting, or being medically evacuated. The others are as follows:

      • Kenzie is the highest-ranking Yanu member.
  • He lost the most weight this season with 22 lbs.
  • Every new era season (with the exception of Survivor 43) had a student make it to the finale.
    • Survivor 41: Deshawn was a Medical Student
    • Survivor 42: Maryanne was a Seminary Student
    • Survivor 44: Carson was a NASA Engineering Student
    • Survivor 45: Austin was a Graduate Student

Winner: Kenzie

  • Kenzie won 5-3-0.
    • She’s the second new era winner to win with a 5-3-0 vote total after Dee.
  • All seven new era seasons ended with either a 7-1-0 or 5-3-0 vote total.
    • Survivor 41-44 had 7-1-0
    • Survivor 45 & 46 had 5-3-0.
  • Kenzie is the first winner with a 91% correct voting average.
    • Kenzie attended 11 tribal councils and correctly voted at 10 of them.
  • Kenzie is the first winner to start on a “Y” tribe.
    • Yasur (Vanuatu), Yahxa (Guatemala), Yawa (Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers), and Yase (Survivor 41) did not produce a winner.
      • Ben D was, however, swapped to Yawa, but he started on Levu.
  • Kenzie holds the record for correctly voting out the most players in the new era with 10.
    • She voted out Jelinsky, Jess, Bhanu, Moriah, Tim, Tevin, Hunter, Venus, Q, and Maria.
      • Tiffany is the only Yanu member she didn’t vote out.
  • There have been double the number of female winners in the 40s seasons so far compared to the entirety of the 30s seasons.
    • Michele and Sarah are the only female winners in the 30s seasons.
    • Erika, Maryanne, Dee, and Kenzie won seasons in the 40s.
  • Kenzie is the second winner to reside in North Carolina after Sandra in Heroes vs. Villains.
  • Kenzie is the sixth LGBTQ winner of Survivor after Richard in Borneo, Todd in China, Parvati in Micronesia, Erika in Survivor 41, and Yam Yam in Survivor 44.

    Wasn’t season 41 also have no idols played?
