Mergatory/Merge

  • Every new era merged tribe has been a different color.
    • Survivor 41: Red
    • Survivor 42: Purple
    • Survivor 43: Green
    • Survivor 44: Black
    • Survivor 45: Orange
  • This is the 21st orange tribe in Survivor and the fourth orange-merged tribe.
  • This is the first orange-merged tribe since Orkun in Cambodia.

Tribes

  • Emily is the ninth player to be on a tribe or attend a tribal council with every castaway on their season. The others are as follows:
    • Rob, Sean, & Vecepia in Marquesas.
    • Denise in Philippines.
    • Spencer & Wiglesworth in Cambodia.
    • Aubry & Michaela in Game Changers.
  • Reba is the third starting tribe to make it past the pre-merge portion of the game without having any players voted out.
    • Tandang in Philippines was the first and Luvu in Survivor 41 was the second.
    • All 3 tribes to do this ended up losing a female player at the first tribal council.
      • RC was voted out at the merge tribal council in Philippines.
      • Sydney was voted out at the mergatory tribal council in Survivor 41.
      • J. Maya was voted out at the mergatory tribal council in Survivor 45.
  • Lulu is the third tribe to have only two members make it to the merge after Ua in Survivor 41 and Matsing in Philippines.
    • Coincidentally, all three seasons had a tribe (Tandang, Luvu, and Reba) that made it past the pre-merge part of the game with all members intact.

Hidden Immunity Idols/Advantage

  • Bruce found the re-hidden Lulu idol.
  • Belo is the third pre-merge tribe to not have anyone find the tribe’s idol.
    • The first was Galang in Blood vs. Water and the second was Angkor in Cambodia.
      • Belo is the first tribe to do this but not be a yellow tribe.
  • Kaleb played his Shot in the Dark.
    • He’s the second person after Jaime in Survivor 44 to be safe after playing it.
      • He’s the first person to play it and have votes cast against him that otherwise would have sent him home.

Immunity Challenge: “Super Ramp”

  • Survivor 42 is the only time a blue team competed in the “earn the merge” challenge and lost.
    • The blue team won in Survivor 41, Survivor 43, and Survivor 45
  • Survivor 44 is the only time that there wasn’t a blue team competing in the “earn the merge” challenge.

Tribal Council

  • J. Maya was voted out in a 10-1 revote after all original votes were nullified by Kaleb’s Shot in the Dark.
    • She’s the first player in Survivor history to be voted out 10-1.
  • With Emily receiving a vote this episode, everyone from the original Lulu tribe (except Hannah, who quit) received at least 1 vote so far.
  • This was Bruce, Jake, Katurah, and Kellie’s first time at tribal.
    • This was Bruce’s first time voting in both seasons he played in.
  • Bruce, Jake, Kellie, and Katurah made it to the merge without going to a pre-merge tribal council. They join the following:
    • The Tandang tribe – Philippines
    • Keith & Joe – Cambodia
    • Michele & Nick – Kaoh Rong
    • Cirie Fields – Game Changers
    • Chris Noble – Ghost Island
    • The Luvu Tribe – Survivor 41
  • Every tribal council had at least one Lulu member vulnerable.
    • Episodes 1-3: Lulu lost the immunity challenge.
    • Episode 4: Sean lost on Reba.
    • Episode 5: Emily lost while on Belo.
    • Episode 6: Emily and Kaleb lost the Mergatory challenge.
  • All votes were nullified from the Shot in the Dark
    • Kaleb now holds the record for most votes nullified at a tribal council with 11. (Previously held by Kelley Wentworth, who nullified 9)
      • Wentworth and Christian are tied with 12 votes nullified in a season.
      • Wentworth still holds the record for most votes nullified at a tribal council with a hidden immunity idol.
  • This was the third time that there was a null vote at tribal council.
    • The Kimmi vote-out in Cambodia.
    • The Cirie vote-out in Game Changers.
      • This is the first time that a null vote happened in a non-finale episode.
  • In the post-swap section of the game, one member of each original tribe was voted out.
    • Episode 4: Sean from Lulu
    • Episode 5: Brando from Belo
    • Episode 6: J. Maya from Reba
  • With the exception of Lex in All-Stars, on every season that started with three tribes, the player voted out at the first merged tribal council was on a starting tribe with the most players (or tied for the most players) left in the game. (In All-Stars, Lex was from Mogo Mogo, who had 3 members left, while Chapera had 4 and Saboga had 2.)
    • RC in Philippines: Tandang had 6 original members left while Kalabaw had 3 and Matsing had 2.

Episode Title

  • The episode title “I’m Not Batman, I’m the Canadian” was said by Kaleb when talking about the need to have allies and not be alone in the game.

  1. Just a friendly correction. Kendra did attend a Tribal Council. I think you meant to write Jake.

Thanks for these. The stat kid in me is always very happy.

  2. “It’s also the first null vote in a season with new players.
All three null votes have happened in a season with at least one returning player.”

This season have a returning player in Bruce.

    • This is the first season where there was a null vote with new players, as all the previous null votes ONLY happened in seasons with returning players (Cambodia, Game Changers, WaW)
The second line is saying that all null votes have happened in a season with at least 1 returning player as Bruce is a returning player this season
