Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor-related statistics and information based off the latest episode of Survivor 44.

Immunity Challenge: “Ballin a Jack”

  • This challenge was previously used in San Juan del Sur, Cambodia, and Island of the Idols (it was also used in Australian Survivor: Blood vs. Water).
    • Joe Anglim in Cambodia is the only man to win this challenge in the US version.
  • Frannie won her second immunity challenge.
  • A woman has won immunity in every post-merge episode.

Hidden Immunity Idol/Advantage

  • Heidi found a hidden immunity idol.
  • Both players who were voted out with fake idols were unaware that their idols were fake when they were voted out.
    • Sarah and Kane both had idols that they thought were real.
  • This is the sixth time that an extra vote was used to vote for someone that didn’t go home.

    • Survivor 44: Jaime used her extra vote against Heidi, but Kane was voted out instead.
  • This is the first “new era” season with a Canadian player in which a Canadian player didn’t make it to final tribal council.
  • The original holders of the extra vote and vote steal (control a vote) either directly or indirectly used their advantages on each other.
    • Heidi controlled Lauren’s vote in episode 7.
    • Lauren’s extra vote was used by Jaime to vote for Heidi in episode 9.
  • This is the first season to have both an unsuccessful vote steal and unsuccessful extra vote.
    • The opposite of this happened in Game Changers in which a vote steal and extra vote were successfully used.
  • Survivor 43 is the only season in the “new era” to not have an extra vote advantage present.

        • Tori was voted out in a double elimination, and Sue quit on day 17 of All-Stars.
  • This episode continued the trend in which none of the tribal councils this season have had a typical vote (all votes counted, everybody voted, no advantages used, etc.)
    • Episode 1: Brandon used his idol and negated 2 votes for him. Matthew and Jaime used their Shot in the Dark and didn’t vote. Lauren banked her vote using her double vote advantage.

    • The first was Phillip in Caramoan.
  • Everyone that’s been voted out post-merge so far has voted for Yam Yam at a tribal council.
    • Lauren is the only player left who voted for Yam Yam and is still in the game.
      • However, this vote was controlled by Heidi’s advantage, so everyone that has voluntarily voted for Yam Yam has been voted out post-merge.
  • All three Ratu men have been eliminated from the game.
  • Carson and Lauren are the only players left in the game without any votes against them.
  • This is the seventh season where the first three jury members are men.
