Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor-related statistics and information based off the latest episode of Survivor 44.

Reward Challenge: “Roll With It”

• This challenge was previously used in Samoa, Heroes vs. Villains, David vs. Goliath, and Survivor 43.
  • Both teams that won this challenge consisted of two men and one woman.
• Carson, Lauren, and Yam Yam won.
  • Carolyn is the only original Tika member who didn’t win this reward challenge.
  • This is the first time this season that Carolyn didn’t take part in a post-merge reward.
• The pre-merge buffs were used during the challenge for each team, with the orange team wearing Ratu buffs and the purple team using Tika buffs.

Immunity Challenge: “Take the Reins”

• This challenge was previously used in Redemption Island, One World, San Juan del Sur, Cambodia, Kaôh Rōng, Ghost Island, David vs. Goliath, and Island of the Idols.
  • This specific version with the disc on two ropes was used in San Juan del Sur, Cambodia, and Ghost Island.
• Lauren is the third woman to win this challenge after Chelsea in Ghost Island and Natalie in Redemption Island.
  • All three women to win this challenge were on black merged tribes and were on an orange tribe pre-merge.
    • Natalie and Lauren started on orange tribes, while Chelsea started on a purple tribe but swapped to an orange tribe.
• Lauren, Heidi, and Yam Yam’s colors during the challenge matched their original tribe colors.
  • Lauren had the orange station, Heidi had the green one, and Yam Yam had the purple one.
• Heidi came in second place during the last two immunity challenges.
• Lauren is the first Black woman to win multiple individual immunity challenges in the New Era.
• Lauren won both challenges in this episode.
  • She’s the only player this season to win both an immunity challenge and reward challenge separately in the same episode.

Season

• This season will be tied with Kaôh Rōng for the fewest players voted out with 12.
  • Both Survivor 44 and Kaôh Rōng started with 18 people.
    • Kaôh Rōng: three players were medically evacuated, and three players made it to the final tribal council.
    • Survivor 44: one player was medically evacuated, one quit for medical reasons, one will be eliminated due to the F4 fire-making twist, and three will make it to the final tribal council.
• This is the first time in the new era that women outnumber the men in the finale.
  • In Survivor 41-43, there were 2 women and 3 men in the finale, while in Survivor 44, there are 3 women and 2 men.
• This is the first season where two LGBTQ+ players (Carolyn & Yam Yam) made it to the Top 5.

Confessionals

• Yam Yam had the most confessionals in this episode with 10.
• Heidi had the least amount of confessionals this episode with 3.
• Confessional counts going into the finale:
  • Yam Yam – 68
  • Carolyn – 56
  • Carson – 49
  • Heidi – 26
  • Lauren – 27
• Matt, Frannie, Danny, and Jaime were voted out in the episode where their confessional count hit 30+.
  • Matt was voted out in an episode where he had 8 confessionals, going from 22 to 30 confessionals.
  • Frannie was voted out in an episode where she had 7 confessionals, going from 24 to 31 confessionals.
  • Danny was voted out in an episode where he had 6 confessionals, going from 29 to 35 confessionals.
  • Jaime was voted out in an episode where she had 6 confessionals, going from 29 to 35 confessionals.

Tribal Council

• Jaime was voted out 4-2.
• Jaime is the first woman to be voted out in 6th place/on day 23 in the new era.
  • Danny was voted out in 41, Omar was voted out in 42, and Cody was voted out in 43.
• Jaime only successfully voted out original Soka members this season.
  • She voted out Josh, Matt, and Frannie.
  • This episode was the first and only time she voted for a Tika member.
  • She never cast a vote against an original Ratu member.
• Heidi played her idol and negated 0 votes.
  • This is the first idol played this season that negated 0 votes.
    • It’s the first idol that negated 0 votes since Maryanne played hers in the finale of Survivor 42.
• This is the first time since episode 8 that Heidi didn’t receive any votes at tribal council.
• Lauren is the highest-ranking player from Ratu.
  • She’s also the only remaining player with 0 votes against her.
• Heidi is the only player left from the swapped Soka tribe.
• Carson is the only player remaining who swapped tribes.
  • Josh and Jaime have both been voted out.

Ratings

• The twelfth episode received 4.705 million viewers and 0.71 in the Adults 18-49 demo.

Episode Title

• The episode title “I’m the Bandit” was said by Carolyn when explaining how she got her hidden immunity idol.
  • This is Carolyn’s fourth episode title this season.
    • She’s tied with Cody from Survivor 43 for most episode titles said by a player in a new era season.
  • Three of her episode titles have started with “I’m.”
    • Episode 4: “I’m Felicia”
    • Episode 11: “I’m Not Worthy”
    • Episode 12: “I’m the Bandit”
