Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor-related statistics and information based off the latest episode of Survivor 44.

Reward Challenge: “Put a Ring on It”

  • Frannie won the reward challenge.
    • She chose Carolyn, Heidi, and Lauren to go with her on the reward.
      • Each person she chose was from a different starting tribe.
        • Carolyn from Tika.
        • Heidi from Soka.
        • Lauren from Ratu.
    • Jaime is the only woman to not take part in the reward.
    • Carolyn and Frannie have taken part in all three post-merge rewards.
    • Yam Yam is the only player left who hasn’t taken part in a post-merge reward.
  • This challenge was previously used in Island of the Idols, Survivor 41, 42, and 43.
    • Island of the Idols is the only season this challenge was used that wasn’t part of the “new era.”
      • It’s also the only season of the five seasons to include it that didn’t have a green tribe.
  • All three players that won this when it was used as a reward challenge were voted out in the same episode.
    • Omar won in Survivor 42, Noelle won in Survivor 43, and Frannie won this season.
  • Frannie is the 9th player who was voted out after winning a loved ones-related reward challenge. The others are as follows:
    • Greg in Borneo
    • Gregg in Palau
    • Judd in Guatemala
    • Alexis in Micronesia
    • Kat in One World
    • Brenda in Caramoan
    • Ron in Edge of Extinction
    • Noelle in Survivor 43
  • Noelle is the only player to win this challenge and not be on a green or orange starting tribe.
    • Dean & Omar were on orange starting tribes.
    • Ricard & Frannie were on green starting tribes.
      • However, the merged tribe was green in Survivor 43, so everyone who won this challenge was on an orange or green tribe at some point in their season.

Immunity Challenge: “Union of the Snake”

  • This challenge was previously used in Millennials vs. Gen X, Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, and Island of the Idols.
    • This is the first time it has been used as an immunity challenge.
  • The puzzle was previously used in Edge of Extinction and Survivor 41.
    • All three times this puzzle has been used, there were eight players left in the game, and a man won (Rick, Ricard, & Carson).
    • It was used as a reward challenge in Survivor 41, but Ricard also won immunity in that episode, so all three players that won this challenge were also immune at tribal council in the same episode.
  • Carson is the first man to solo win an individual immunity challenge this season.
    • Brandon won in episode 7, but Frannie also won in that episode.

Confessionals

  • Frannie had the most confessionals this episode with 7.
  • Heidi had the lowest confessional count this episode with 2.
  • Yam Yam is still in the lead for most confessionals with 54.
  • Heidi has the lowest confessional count of the remaining players with 19.
  • The three Tika players are still in the top 3 of confessional counts.
    • Yam Yam has 54.
    • Carolyn has 45.
    • Carson has 38.

Tribal Council

  • Frannie was voted out 5-2-1.
    • Nine players have been voted out 5-2-1.
      • Noelle Lambert in Survivor 43 was the most recent.
      • Peter Harkey in Marquesas was the first player voted out 5-2-1.
  • The only players to receive votes in this episode were original Soka members (Danny, Frannie, & Heidi).
  • This episode is the only time Frannie has been vulnerable other than episode 3.
    • Episodes 1, 2, 4, & 5: Frannie’s tribe was immune.
    • Episode 6: Her team won immunity during the “earn the merge” challenge.
    • Episode 7: Frannie won individual immunity.
    • Episode 8: Danny used his idol on Frannie.
    • Episode 9: Frannie won individual immunity.
  • Frannie is the first woman to be voted out since Sarah in episode 4.
  • Frannie holds the record for most challenge wins in the “new era” with 10.
    • She won seven tribal/team challenges and three individual challenges.
    • The previous record was nine, which was held by multiple players.
  • With Frannie being voted out, the only LGBTQ+ players left in the season are Carolyn and Yam Yam, who both started the game on the Tika tribe.
  • Of the six LGBTQ+ players voted out in 8th place, Frannie is the only woman.
  • Danny is the only player who voted for Frannie in this episode that didn’t vote for her in episode 8.
    • Carson, Jaime, Lauren, and Yam Yam all voted for Frannie in episode 8, while Danny voted for Brandon.
      • Kane and Brandon also voted for Frannie in episode 8, but they were eliminated as of this episode.
  • Heidi is the only woman remaining from the original Soka tribe.
  • Danny is the only player left with a perfect voting record.
  • Everyone voted out in 8th place in the “new era” was on a green tribe during their season.
    • Shan, Hai, and Frannie started on green tribes in their seasons.
    • Noelle was on a green merged tribe.
  • Nobody from the original Tika tribe has been eliminated post-merge.
    • This is the first time this season that the Tika players outnumbered the members of the other two starting tribes.
  • This is the first vote this season that was normal (no advantages used, everyone voted, all votes were counted, etc).
    • Episode 1: Brandon used his idol and negated 2 votes for him. Matthew and Jaime used their Shot in the Dark and didn’t vote. Lauren banked her vote using her double vote advantage.
    • Episode 2: Sarah could not vote due to losing her vote at The Summit.
    • Episode 3: Claire used her Shot in the Dark and didn’t vote. Matt lost his vote at The Summit.
    • Episode 4: Josh used his idol and negated 2 votes for him.
    • Episode 5: No Tribal Council.
    • Episode 6: Matt was unable to vote due to him losing his 2nd vote at The Summit.
    • Episode 7: Half of the tribe was immune and unable to vote.
    • Episode 8: Danny played an idol for Frannie and negated 6 votes for her.
    • Episode 9: Jaime used the extra vote and voted twice for Heidi.
  • When explaining the immunity challenge, Jeff mistakenly said that the person voted out in this episode would be the 11th person voted out. Frannie was actually the 9th player voted out as Bruce and Matthew were medevaced/quit.
  • This season holds the record for most players to never cast a correct vote, with 8/18 (44%).
    • Bruce was medically evacuated.
    • Maddy voted for Brandon when she was eliminated.
    • Helen voted for Carolyn when she was eliminated.
    • Claire didn’t vote when she was eliminated.
    • Sarah didn’t vote at her first tribal council and voted for Josh when she was eliminated.
    • Matthew didn’t vote at his first tribal council, then he was medically evacuated/quit.
    • Matt didn’t vote at his first two tribal councils and voted for Yam Yam when he was eliminated.
    • Kane voted for Brandon at his first tribal council (which was nullified), voted for Yam Yam in episode 6, voted for Frannie in episode 7 (which was nullified), and voted for Danny when he was eliminated.
