Immunity Challenge: “Last Gasp”

• This challenge was previously used in Palau, Micronesia, and Caramoan.
  • This is the first time this challenge has been used in 17 seasons.
  • Brenda is the only solo woman to win this challenge.
• Every time this challenge was used, the merged tribe was green.
  • If Palau did have a merge, the tribe color would have been green.
• This is the first time this challenge had to be canceled.
  • Due to it being canceled before it ended, both Karla and Owen won.
    • This is the first time two players won an immunity challenge that was intended for one player to win.
• Both episodes Karla won immunity, she won alongside another player.
  • Episode 9 was the double elimination episode where Karla and Cody won immunity.
  • This episode Karla and Owen won.
• This is the first time this season where someone who has already won individual immunity won again.
  • Both Karla and Owen had already won immunity.

Advantage/Hidden Immunity Idol

• Cody found the “Choose your Champion” advantage.
  • He’s the first player to find this advantage.
  • He correctly chose Owen as the winner and won immunity himself.
• Sami is the sixth player to unsuccessfully use their Shot in the Dark.
  • Sydney used hers in Survivor 41.
  • Zach, Marya, Swati, & Tori used theirs in Survivor 42.
  • He’s the first player to use it this season.
  • Every person to play their Shot in the Dark was voted out at the tribal council where they used it.

Confessionals

• Sami had the most confessionals this episode with 7.
• Jesse had the least amount of confessionals this episode with 1.
• Cody is back in the lead for most confessionals with 46.
• Cassidy has the least amount of confessionals with 26.

Tribal Council

• Sami was voted out 6-0.
  • The only other player to be voted out with an initial vote of 6-0 was Jeff Varner in Game Changers.
    • Four other players have been voted out 6-0 after a tie or after idols were played.
      • Laura Alexander & Malcolm Freberg in Caramoan.
      • Wendy Diaz in Edge of Extinction.
      • Shan Smith in Survivor 41.
    • Sami is the first player to be voted out 6-0 at a normal tribal council, as Jeff’s elimination in Game Changers was a unanimously agreed upon verbal vote-out.
    • This is the first episode this season where only one player received votes.
• Sami is the only man to be voted out on day 21 in the “new era.”
  • Liana in Survivor 41 and Drea in Survivor 42 were voted out on day 21.
    • Sami is also the only player to not have used the Knowledge is Power advantage that was voted out on day 21.
• In the first seven seasons (excluding Thailand), day 21 was when the first merge vote occurred with the person that was voted out not becoming a member of the jury.

  • Jeff in The Australian Outback.

    • Andrew Savage lasted 21 days in both seasons he played in.
• Jesse and Cody are the only players with perfect voting records at this point in the season.
  • Cody is the only one that has correctly cast a vote at every single tribal council he’s attended, as Jesse didn’t have a vote in episode 6.
• Sami is the first Baka man to be voted out this season.
• With Sami being voted out, there are two players from each starting tribe remaining.
  • Vesi – Cody & Jesse.
  • Coco – Cassidy & Karla.
  • Baka – Gabler & Owen.
    • Coincidentally each tribe consists of one gender.

Ratings

• The 11th episode received 5.305 million viewers and 0.72 in the Adults 18-49 demo.

Episode Title

• The episode title “Hiding in Plain Sight” was said by Gabler when talking about how he hasn’t been a target up to this point.
