Survivor South Africa Season 8 Power Rankings (Round 9)

Jacques and Meryl make their Episode 10 predictions.

For the first time ever here on Inside Survivor, we will be bringing you Survivor South Africa Power Rankings. As the battle to outplay and outwit goes down on the Wild Coast of South Africa, another showdown will be taking place right here between two Survivor veterans.

Fighting it out for Power Rankings supremacy are two past Survivor SA castaways, both from Island of Secrets, Jacques Burger and Meryl Szolkeiwicz. Meryl finished in 13th place on Survivor SA, while Jacques made it to 7th place. But who will come out on top in the Power Rankings? Let battle commence!

In Round 8, Jacques ranked Shaun in 7th place, earning him 7 points. Meryl also had Shaun ranked at 7th, bagging her 7 points. Let’s see how this week turns out!

RULES

We use the Gordon Holmes format of Power Rankings. Each week the two power rankers create separate rankings based on least likely to most likely to be eliminated. The ranking of the player who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the rankers will earn. For example, if the person you ranked in 1st place is eliminated in the next episode, you will recieve 1 point. If the person you ranked in 20th place is eliminated, you will receive 20 points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the Power Rankings Champion.

1
Amy
Amy takes number one this week. With the space to hide becoming scarcer by the episode, Amy has done the best job of not giving anybody a reason to vote her out. A masterful stealth game we've seen so far. Let's see if she can use this position to make a couple of big moves and secure a win.
1
Amy
Amy’s strategic prowess was portrayed so well this round. I saw it since the first episode and I think that her calm, almost academic understanding of relationships will come into full spotlight in the next episode. She is brilliant socially as well and is able to hide behind bigger players.
2
Nicole
Nicole is also a person whose Jack-of-all-trades style of playing has not given her opponents a reason to vote her out. She's a dark horse to grab some immunities as well, making her a deadly force come the endgame!
2
Anesu
Anesu is in an interesting position. She doesn’t seem to have proper endgame alliances and she knows it. It looks like she is ready to flip on the Vuna OG’s and will be able to take a few with her. She presents no obvious threat and is stealthily working her way through the game. She is also still sitting on her advantage.
3
Anesu
The person with the password to both faction's vault of secrets. Not only is her intel game on point, but she's also proven to be great at the challenges, and with her on-point social game, she's a legit triple threat. Anesu knows that there can't be six people in the final three. The question is how will she keeps both camps content while voting them out and securing a spot at the end?
3
Renier
Renier loses another number this week, but I think he is prepared to take some losses for the greater of the game. I think there are bigger threats around which is why he is safe this week.
4
Santoni
Another person with a truly up and down journey this season. I get the feeling that the time to take out people playing the middle has come and gone. This ensures that Santoni and Anesu's names won't come up until the endgame. Santoni should use this time to build strong connections and ensure that people getting voted out value her enough to grant her a R1m vote at the end.
4
Francois
Chappies has moved way up in terms of threat levels. There are bigger power players around and I think that everyone knows that. I have a weird feeling that Chappies gets to the end. He always seems to be a “threat” of the episode and yet survives another day. The strongest part of his game is definitely his ability to build social connections!
5
Francois
I'm not sure if Chappies is out of the woods just yet. Only two weeks ago he received seven votes against him. With his spy shack in place, can he get the required intel to make the right move and stay in this game whilst pitching the two big factions against one another?
5
Nicole
Nicole has been quiet this round. She lost her biggest ally and we see how it affects her. I am still waiting for the Santoni v Nicole showdown.
6
Renier
Renier's share price is slowly declining. We see Santoni leading the charge to deny his request to be sent to Immunity Island. Until now he has not been pegged as a threat but a move like that might give the rest of the players the impetus to take him out at the next tribal. The reliability of his alliance with Amy will face its first true test once his name gets thrown out.
6
Tyson
Tyson is making moves through his connections. He reminds me a little bit of Moana from Survivor Australia. He doesn’t get involved in the social politics but does what he needs to to get further in the game.
7
Tyson
A true warrior and a great character this season! Grit and determination have been the core of Tyson's game up until now. Can his social game keep up? Does he have the finesse to build connections across original tribal lines to gather the required votes and get control of the game? Can't wait to see if he can mix up his game.
7
Kiran
Kiran has won his second immunity. He is the full package player! I think that his threat level has risen quite a bit and that the rest of the players are ready to flip the power dynamics...I'm nervous for the three Vuna alliance.
8
Wardah
I am slightly scared for Wardah going into this episode. She's been involved in many big moves and has always had someone covering her back. However, as the trust in allies grows thin, she might be an easy vote if there's an idol in play on either side.
8
Santoni
Santoni gets all the information and then she shares all the information. She draws the viewer in as a confidant and I am impressed that she is still in the game. Her social agility is unmatched and her humanity is so enduring.
9
Kiran
With two individual immunities under his belt, Kiran has to be ecstatic! At the same time, the rest of the castaways will definitely have taken note of both his mental and physical abilities. This makes him a big target this early on in the merge, and I wonder if he will tone it down to reduce his threat level or go all-in on every upcoming challenge. With Tyson being seen as the idol king, I can see people wanting to split up that duo and vote out Kiran.
9
Wardah
Wardah has been on other people's hit-list since merge. She is part of the power 3 and is very good socially. She is loyal to her alliance and I love how she doesn’t back down during tribal councils. Let’s see if she can avoid another vote.
10
Anela
Last week, we saw Anela be Kiran's primary target of choice, only surviving due to Kiran granting Santoni her Shaun wish. Was that merely a random sequence of events or did it foreshadow the upcoming vote? Anela has lost a close ally in Shaun and will have to make a move to take destiny into his own hands.
10
Anela
Anela has been at the bottom of the pecking order for a while now. He is so likeable and I think just a nice guy! He isn’t very strategic, which might get him the boot next round.
