Survivor South Africa Season 8 Power Rankings (Round 6)

Jacques and Meryl make their Episode 7 predictions.

For the first time ever here on Inside Survivor, we will be bringing you Survivor South Africa Power Rankings. As the battle to outplay and outwit goes down on the Wild Coast of South Africa, another showdown will be taking place right here between two Survivor veterans.

Fighting it out for Power Rankings supremacy are two past Survivor SA castaways, both from Island of Secrets, Jacques Burger and Meryl Szolkeiwicz. Meryl finished in 13th place on Survivor SA, while Jacques made it to 7th place. But who will come out on top in the Power Rankings? Let battle commence!

In Round 5, Jacques ranked Dino in 5th place, earning him 5 points. Meryl, meanwhile, had Dino ranked at 14th, bagging her 14 points and extending her lead. Let’s see how this week turns out!

RULES

We use the Gordon Holmes format of Power Rankings. Each week the two power rankers create separate rankings based on least likely to most likely to be eliminated. The ranking of the player who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the rankers will earn. For example, if the person you ranked in 1st place is eliminated in the next episode, you will recieve 1 point. If the person you ranked in 20th place is eliminated, you will receive 20 points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the Power Rankings Champion.

Francois
Chappies is my number one this week. The merge can't be far away and the players know it. He has diplomatic immunity that he can use to jump ship if his tribe loses. A guaranteed ticket to surviving this week!
1
Tyson
Ya booi Tyson is at the top again. I liked him since the pre-game and all my bets are on him to take this to the end. His confessionals are compelling, he is strategic and is in a boss loyal alliance with Kiran. The two of them are playing so well!
2
Renier
What can we say about Renier that we haven't said already? He keeps sending his inner circle to Immunity Island and nobody is suspect of this. He wants to make sure his alliance grows close and trust one another plus he is a physical player to boot. With Chappies and Marisha on his tribe, how do they lose a challenge?
2
Renier
Renier is a quiet and calculated player. He knows how to hide behind alliances and not to bring too much attention to himself or his gameplay. I’m ecstatic that he and Amy are back together and that he has a great tribe for his game currently. Unless something drastic happens, my guess is that he goes quite deep into the game.
3
Amy
Reunited with her number two. Pop the champagne boys and girls, surely she's making the merge from here! She's set for such a great individual game. With the number of big personalities left, her under the radar strategy will surely thrive in the next installment of the game.
3
Amy
Amy and Renier are back together. She is also back with the blondes and they seem very loyal. I think she is playing the most under-the-radar game at the moment. She is level-headed and well placed.
4
Tyson
Back in command and with another idol to boot. Tyson was wise in the way they sent home Dino, ensuring they keep their numbers if they do lose again. Also has a great ride-or-die in Kiran, I can see them making an impact and going deep.
4
Kiran
Kiran is playing a suberb game. He knows when to show himself and when to let the 'flow' take him. He has also been instrumental in all of the votes and is able to form good social bonds quickly.
5
Kiran
If Tyson is the muscle of the operation, Kiran is definitely the brain. His calm demeanor and the ability to know when to speak up and when to back down will prove extremely valuable for the longevity of his game.
5
Marisha
Marisha has been doing well and has also had some great moments where the mother-heart has come out again in this episode. Her bringing the care package may have placed her in an angelic light to the other players.
6
Wardah
Her witty one-liners and speaking her mind at tribal is highly compelling to watch. What a fun character! The mantra of "I have to avenge Carla" is slightly concerning, I hope she doesn't burn her fingers by pursuing this side-quest.
6
Nicole
At some point in these rankings, I sincerely thought that Nicole was in danger, but not at all. She is strong and charming, I just look forward to the Nicole - Santoni showdown during merge.
7
Shaun
A quiet episode by Shaun's standards! It's good to know that he is part of a tight-knit group, definitely want to see him in action when it's a personal game and he's scrambling to keep himself in the game!
7
Wardah
Queen Wardah, low key, doesn’t disappoint at tribal. Again she laid it all out and gave Anela an unexpected verbal smashing. She now also has a hitlist to avenge Carla and it seems like Santoni is a close second on that list.
8
Santoni
Tough luck that Santoni had to burn her idol. The thought that she had the chance to acquire three idols at one stage, and is currently sitting with zero, could make you miserable. Luckily Santoni's the sunshine herself and won't fret over this for too long. Highly impressed by her social connections thus far.
8
Anesu
Anesu was actually not part of a vote on Vuna 2.0 and I’m concerned that the alliances have not been put through the fire. All her closest allies are on Zamba 3.0, but I believe that she is safe, and she is sitting on an advantage which will keep her safe til merge.
9
Marisha
Once again Marisha was a physical force in the challenges, ensuring her tribe a victory! I truly hope she spends her energy making friends during this time. As the game becomes more individual, I can't see the parchments with her name on evading Nico's urn for too long.
9
Qiean
Qiean has had the purplest edit that I have seen in Survivor South Africa. She was a favourite coming into the game based on her pre-game interviews, but we haven’t seen any substantial alliance forming or gameplay from her and aside from the premier, no real camera time. She is once again in the middle.
10
Anela
Anela was thrown a bone by his former crew - a testament to the trust he has bestowed to them and the way it was returned. However, he currently has no vote and is on the bottom of his tribe. With Wardah gunning for him, it will be an uphill battle to save himself next week.
10
Francois
Everyone’s hero, Chappies... his name comes in during all strategic talks. Everyone wants to get rid of him, yet he stays safe. Such a compelling moment for him, which he cleverly juxtaposed with a moment of complete silliness. Very smart. He did that earlier in the game too, and it makes him less threatening to his tribemates. Another great episode for him. I don’t think he is ever going home and might just be a threat in the game til the end.
11
Anesu
Anesu is in a tough spot. By original tribe lines, she's currently in the minority and the most expendable individual of her tribe. However, she's slotted in with a lot of the powerhouses, they might just win out and she won't have to attend tribal this week.
11
Santoni
Santoni is now completely vulnerable. She’s played her idol, she is on Wardah’s hitlist, and is allied to the biggest threat, Chappies. I love her confessionals as well. I feel like I’m her friend, her confidant and she is playing with her instinct, which I love. Hope to see what she can do during the merge when everyone is gunning for big strong players.
12
Qiean
It's worrisome that we have seen this little of Qieän up until now. It might be a testament to the limited strategic and social gameplay, or it can be that she pops off at the end of the season. The fact that she was on the wrong side of the previous vote, and that she is in the minority, doesn't bode well for her. Her best move would be to appeal to her former tribemates to send her to immunity island if they lose again.
12
Anela
Anela, I’ve liked him since the beginning, but since he is most wanted (off) by Wardah and he is affiliated with Chappies and Renier, that the queen might just get her wish. That is unless the other tribe loses the immunity challenge.
13
Nicole
Nicole keeps dominating the lower end of my charts each week. I think she's an incredible threat and somebody who can easily win the game if given the space to do so. I think if they are wise, they'll vote out one of the strongest social players before merge and ensure that she doesn't stop them from winning a million bucks.
13
Shaun
Shaun is exposed in Vuna 3. Yes, he has played with the majority and been able to build trust, but he is not as close with the girls and Renier. He also had a blow-out at the previous tribal and he was clearly triggered when he saw the other tribe enjoying their reward.
