Australian Survivor 2019 Power Rankings (Round 6)

Former castaways Fenella McGowan and Tess O’Halloran face off!

While the battle between Champions and Contenders is playing out on the islands of Fiji, here on Inside Survivor, an even bigger showdown is taking place. That’s right, Aussie Power Rankings are back, as Fenella McGowan, Tess O’Halloran and Martin Holmes compete for the Inside Survivor Power Rankings crown!

Round 5 has come and gone, and yes, as usual, Tess continues to extend her lead, now standing at 170 points overall. Martin remains in second place, racking up 162 points, but Fenella is close behind on 160 points. Will there be any changes this week?

RULES

We use the Gordon Holmes format of Power Rankings. Each week the three power rankers create separate rankings based on least likely to most likely to be eliminated. The ranking of the player who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the rankers will earn. For example, if the person you ranked in 1st place is eliminated in the next episode, you will recieve 1 point. If the person you ranked in 20th place is eliminated, you will receive 20 points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the Australian Survivor Power Rankings Champion.

As Australian Survivor airs multiple episodes per week, the rankings will count for each episode aired that particular week.

Pia
I don't have much to say on this topic that hasn't already been said... So maybe we should just start the hashtag #winnersedit???
1
Baden
Baden gave Luke and co plenty of reason last week to think he's the last person Daisy would play her idol for, and therefore a great target... And still, his name didn't even come up. This makes me think a few of the Champs are keeping him in the back pocket, not a bad spot.
1
Pia
The smiling assassin has every reason to smile after blindsiding David and keeping her Charlie's Angels alliance intact for the entire game so far. I expect a move to be made against that trio this week, but based on the edit, I don't see Pia being the target. The pressure will be on if she loses Janine and/or Abbey though... I guess we can call it Pia pressure.
2
Baden
Old mate Bae-den seems to be the bae around camp at the moment. Playing the middle and being the swing vote is a powerful position... until all the bigger players leave the camp and you find yourself without a buddy. After this next week, I think we may be saying Bye-bye to our Bae-den.
2
Pia
On the one hand, Pia is well shielded with Luke, Harry, and the Godmother out in front of her as big targets for both sides. On the other, I'm starting to worry she won't get the credit for scheming if she doesn't stick her head out and make a jury-visible move. Having said that, Pia clearly has great instincts in this game, so I'm going to trust her timing.
2
Baden
Baden has worked himself into a nice little swing spot, however, I do think he gave up a little too much info to Luke last week and effectively killed the Contenders' chances of surviving the vote. That said, his social game is strong, and it does seem like Luke genuinely wants to work with him to make a move.
3
Daisy
I hear that the down side to not going to loads of Tribals before merge is you can be somewhat less prepared for the dumbf***ery that is about to go down after said merge: cue Daisy's face! However, despite Daisy looking like someone is permanently pulling her hair out, I don't think she's in the worst position. Yes, she lost Shaun, but that now makes her less of a target. Yes, she doesn't seem to have the biggest connections with anyone else around camp, but now she can be a swing vote. The only reason I've put her lower than Baeden is because her name has been out there, but I do think these two are sitting pretty this week.
3
Simon
It's so weird to me that after living in the same muck for 35 odd days, Simon can still be SIMON BLACK BROWNLOW MEDALIST AND CHILDHOOD HERO and not just Simmo who eats off dirty seashells and farts papaya like everyone else does. He seems to have retained myth-like qualities with his tribemates, who talk about him like he's not really an active tribe member but... Well, a childhood hero who they sometimes sight around their neighborhood. I guess they'll remember to vote him out at some point but why would you do it now??
3
Simon
I do worry that Simon's challenge prowess might make him a target some time soon, so this could be a dangerously high ranking. But with other big strategic threats still on the board, I just don't see anyone taking aim at Mr. Black just yet.
4
Abbey
AS IFFFFFF you win a reward and get annoyed when people want to talk strategy because you JUST WANTED TO GET TO KNOW THEM BETTER. WHATTTTTTTTT. Right now if I was absolutely anyone, ANYONE, I'd be thinking about taking Abbey to the final tribal. The girls not dangerous, she doesn't want to play and she won the car.
4
Abbey
Abbey was a target for the Tendies last week, so it might be ballsy having her so high... But honestly I still just cannot see a world where the people with the gumption to make a move (and pull it off) would make it on Abbey!
4
Abbey
I placed Abbey low last week, hoping that the risk would be worth the reward. It didn't work. I'm thinking that, outside of challenges, the others don't see Abbey as this huge game threat. Therefore, she is probably safe, even if a move is made against the Champion ladies.
5
Harry
So Harry's name is no doubt going to come up this week, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say he's not going home! If he pulls off the Janine vote I can see him flipping the next few votes on to the stronger players. No-one wants to go head to head with someone strong come final three, so throw in a lack of food and sleep, and you have yourself a winning argument.
5
Janine
I don't think Janine is going to win the war, but I reckon she'll take out the battle with Harry at least. (Jericho would be so proud of all these war metaphors).
5
Daisy
Two misplayed idols is not a great look, but I can't really blame Daisy given the situation. That idol play was always going to be a crapshoot (or crab-shoot as Tess would say) and protecting yourself is the safest move. I definitely think Daisy is still a target, but her public snafus might start to make her less of a threat.
6
Luke
Gah! Luke's lost his David shield and Shaun threw out at Tribal that no-one is going to win against him should he make it to final two. This is not good news for our Lukey Boy. I'm excited at the prospect of he and Harry teaming up together but past that vote, I don't see things going that well. Shaun's comment would be resonating with everyone in the camp. Can the producers please arrange an idol for this man?! I'd love to be wrong about this one. P.S. Soz you're not back up in the top three Luke :/
6
Luke
Ok ok, it's hard for me to compliment Lukey too much after he completely kamikaze’d me in our season and took us both down (I know you read these Luke, look away now), but BOY is he playing well. To rebound so smoothly after not only being called out as the biggest threat in the game but also being blindsided by the entire tribe… Incredible. The night rice was fun, but beyond that, he even explained to us the strategy behind it. Secrets in the night really do bind people together. Again, I want to put him higher but that threat factor is peaking.
6
Harry
It looks like Dirty Harry vs. The Godmother war is about to pick back up this week. At least one of them is going to go... if not both. Given the foreshadowing with the midnight rice crew, I can see Harry coming out on top in the battle. Whether he can hang on after that remains to be seen.
7
Simon
After the Janine vote, I think the camp will want to take it down a notch (for one tribal) and go with a slightly less stressful vote. Unless Simon can win another immunity I think he's on the chopping block this week.
7
Daisy
The idol Russian roulette reminded me of that scene from the Princess Bride, where Farm Boy hides poison in one of the cups and the genius tries to guess whether he would have put the poison into his own cup or the genius’. Farm Boy has to guess what the genius would do and the genius has to guess what Farm Boy would have guessed he would do and therefore what he would have done… Anyway (spoiler), in the end, Farm Boy poisoned both cups because he’s immune anyway and the genius dies. I feel like Daisy is the genius and her cup is poisoned no matter what she does here...
7
Luke
I don't want to rank Luke this low; he's playing such an amazing social game. But it's a calculated risk. I'm hoping that Fenella and Tess won't have him this low, and so, if he's voted out, it will give me a much-needed points boost. Sorry to use you in this manner, Lukey!
8
Janine
Did I hear someone mention that Janine's in business?! I think stocks are down for Janine Corporation this week, and to be honest, I'm kinda happy about it. I'd like to see what Pia does when her shield leaves the building... the business building I might add. Did anyone know Janine's in business?
8
Harry
I like that Harry sees the danger of being Janine’s ‘puppet’, but I think the better move for him would be to tuck in under her wing, where he’ll have a good shot at her soft spot when the time comes, rather than waging outright war. Especially if his only allies are the mole, Baden, and well… Daisy.
8
Janine
I think it's time for The Godmother to sleep with the fishies.
