Australian Survivor is the latest television production to be affected by the coronavirus pandemic as Network 10 confirms filming of the next season is to be delayed until further notice.
“Following the Australian Government’s latest advice on overseas travel, plus discussions with the Fijian Government, production of the new season of Australian Survivor has been postponed,” said a Network 10 spokesperson (via TVTonight).
A sixth season was scheduled to start filming in Fiji from April and air later in the year. Australian Survivor All-Stars, which was filmed in the summer of 2019, is currently airing on 10.
“While this news is disappointing, the health and safety of everyone involved with the show is our number one priority,” the statement continues. “We will update everyone on when production will start as soon as we can.”
In related news, Australian Survivor host Jonathan LaPaglia will not be able to appear live in person at the All-Stars reunion show. Osher Gunsberg will step in to host proceedings, while LaPaglia will join via satellite from Los Angeles.
The postponement follows Survivor US’s decision to delay its shooting of season 41 until mid-May. Both versions of the hit international reality-show film in Fiji.

Hello all, wow what a year we had in 2020 and now waiting and waiting for the “greatest” entertainment show Australian Survivor to begin filming and broadcasting again.
All Stars was super epic and every player made an incredible contribution for a riveting season which my household have watch over and over.
We would pay top price for a DVD set of all Australian Shows, including Jury Villa and funny out-takes. Please put one out – please please .
Can wait for 2021 episodes to start. Congratulation to Jonathon, David, Sharn and Moana. Great effort especially David considering he got stitches, black lung (flu) and a massive infected spider bite. Yes he still won, what a worthy true champion. ⛹️♂️️♂️
