It’s a beautiful day to celebrate for Survivor fans as we now have official confirmation that the show is heading back into production for season 41.
Following a teaser tweet from CBS, Survivor host and showrunner Jeff Probst took to Twitter to confirm the news that Survivor is returning to the island to film the next season.
“Fiji has invited us back to their beautiful country to shoot season 41,” Probst said in a video seemingly filmed on location. “We have all of our COVID protocols in place so that everybody in Fiji will remain safe, all of our crew will be safe, and, of course, our players will be safe.”

As originally reported on Inside Survivor, crew members have been flying to Fiji over the past month or so and quarantining for 14-days upon arrival. The cast, who are scheduled to depart this week, will have to do the same once they land in Fiji.
“Survivor will be filming in Fiji with the crew expecting to arrive in the next few days,” Fiji’s Minister for Commerce, Trade, Tourism, and Transport, Faiyaz Koya said during a February 11 parliament meeting.
“They have to stagger the way they actually come because most of the crew are sitting in different parts of the world, but all done under the guidance of the Ministry of Health. We follow the necessary protocol to protect our own citizens.”
The coronavirus pandemic initially forced production to shut down back in March 2020. Despite hopes of resuming in the fall of 2020, production was further pushed back until spring 2021. In the meantime, recasting took place for both seasons 41 and 42.

Probst continued: “I can’t remember a time I’ve been this pumped to shoot Survivor. The past year has reminded me, and I hope it’s reminded you, that you’ve got to live your life like it’s one big, great adventure, and Survivor fulfills that.”
