Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor related statistics and information based off the latest episode of Survivor: Game Changers.

Vote-out #1

  • Hali was voted out 7-4-2.
  • Both times Hali has been voted out, she was the first member of the jury.
    • She’s the only person to do this in the history of Survivor.
    • In both seasons the person voted out after her was the long haired “Golden Boy.”
      • Joe in Worlds Apart.
      • Ozzy in Game Changers.
  • Hali was the eighth person voted out both times she played.
  • This was the first time Hali didn’t vote correctly this season.
  • Sierra has voted Hali out twice.
  • Hali received eight votes against her both times she played.
    • One vote at one tribal council, seven votes at the tribal she was eliminated.

Tribal Council #1

  • This is Cirie’s first time going to tribal council this season.
  • Troyzan is the only original Mana member to go into the merge with no votes against him.
    • He’s also the only male from original Mana member to make it to the merge.
  • This was the first time this season that Hali, Sarah, Andrea, and Cirie (by default) didn’t vote for the person that went home.

Vote-out #2

  • Ozzy has been the second member of the jury in two separate seasons.
    • Both times he was the second juror, the first juror was a young female lawyer.
      • Eliza in Micronesia.
      • Hali in Game Changers.
  • Ozzy was voted out 7-4-1-1.
  • He’s been voted out in the second post-merge episode in three separate seasons.
  • Ozzy is the only person to be voted out five times.
  • He’s reclaimed the record of most total votes against a Survivor with 34. Ciera had previously overtaken him earlier this season with 32.
  • Ozzy has received at least one vote against him every season he’s played in.
  • Both times Ozzy and Cirie have played together, she has outlasted him.
  • This is the earliest that Ozzy has been officially voted out of the game.
    • Cook Islands – made it to day 39.
    • Micronesia – lasted 27 days.
    • South Pacific – lasted 38 days (voted out twice before that, returned from Redemption Island twice).
    • Game Changers – lasted 24 days.
  • Ozzy is the first Tavua member to be voted out this season.
    • He’s also only the second original Nuku member to be voted out.

Tribal Council #2

  • Debbie is the first person to use the Extra Vote advantage on the individual that actually was eliminated.
  • This was the first time Aubry only got one vote at tribal council instead of two.
    • At every tribal council in Kaoh Rong where Aubry got votes (including FTC) and every tribal council in Game Changers where she got votes, she got exactly two votes against her.
  • Both vote totals in this double episode were 7-4 with two other votes going to others.
  • Tai has the record of the most people voted out so far this season with six, he hasn’t misvoted yet.
  • Zeke got votes against him in both episodes this week.
    • Both players from Millennials vs. Gen X got votes against them in Episode 8.

Confessionals

  • Cirie had nine confessionals in Episode 8; this is the highest number for most confessionals in a single episode so far this season.
    • She got more confessionals this episode than she did in the entire pre-merge.
    • She also had the highest combined confessional count for both Episodes 8 & 9 with thirteen.
  • Ozzy and Troyzan didn’t get any confessionals in Episode 8.
  • Troyzan hasn’t had a confessional since Episode 6.
    • He’s the only person to not get a confessional in Episode 9.
  • Zeke had the most confessionals in Episode 9 with six.

Tribes/Castaways/Merge

  • Everyone from Tavua made it to the merge without any votes against them.
    • The only other tribe to ever do this is Tandang.
  • Maku Maku is the 20th yellow tribe; it is now tied again with blue for the most used tribe color on Survivor.
  • Maku Maku is the third merged tribe to consist of 13 members. The others are as follows.
    • Orkun in Cambodia.
    • Vinaka in Millennials vs. Gen X.
      • All three seasons that had a “tribe expansion” merged with 13 people left.
  • Maku Maku is the seventh merged tribe name that is a combination of the starting tribe names. The others are as follows:
    • Chuay Jai in Thailand.
    • Chaboga Mogo in All-Stars.
    • Xhakúm in Guatemala.
    • Aitutonga in Cook Islands.
    • Solarrion in Cagayan.
    • Huyopa in San Juan Del Sur.
    • Every returning castaway whose first season hasn’t fully aired before competing on their next season has made the merge.
      • Rupert in All Stars.
      • Amanda and James in Micronesia.
      • Russell in Heroes vs. Villains.
      • Malcolm in Caramoan.
      • Michaela and Zeke in Game Changers.
  • Andrea and Ozzy are the third and fourth people to compete in at least three seasons and make it to the merge every time. Amanda and Parvati are the others.

Immunity Challenge – “Keep on Your Toes.”

  • Andrea is the only woman to win this challenge.
  • This challenge has previously been seen in Cagayan and Worlds Apart.
    • Sierra has competed in this challenge twice and lost both times.
    • Sarah was voted out in the episode before this challenge took place in Cagayan, and Hali was voted out in the episode before this challenge took place in Worlds Apart.
  • This is Andrea’s third individual immunity win in her Survivor career.
    • Andrea is the only person to play in three (or more) seasons and win individual immunity in each season she’s appeared.
    • Every time Andrea won individual immunity, it was during a double boot/back-to-back airing episode.
    • She’s the second person to win individual immunity in three different seasons.
      • The first person was Boston Rob, who was on Redemption Island with Andrea.
        • One of Rob’s individual immunity wins was pre-merge (in Heroes vs. Villains), so Andrea is the only person to win post-merge individual immunity in three separate seasons.

Reward Challenge – “New School.”

  • This challenge has previously been seen in Kaoh Rong (as a tribal immunity challenge).
    • Aubry, Debbie, and Tai have previously competed in this challenge.
      • Debbie is the only person to win this challenge twice; she was on the puzzle both times.

Immunity Challenge – “Get a Grip.”

  • Ozzy has competed in this challenge three times and previously won it twice.
    • This is his first time losing this challenge.
  • This challenge has previously been seen in Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Tocantins, Heroes vs. Villains, South Pacific, Blood vs. Water, and Worlds Apart.

  1. If you’re counting three-time players who made the merge each time, it’d be Rupert, Parvati, Amanda, Ozzy, Andrea (in order) but Rupert doesnt fit the “every time” qualification

  2. “Andrea is the only person to play in multiple seasons and win individual immunity in each season she’s appeared.”

    What about Kathy Vavrick O’Brien?

  3. Sorry if this is wrong but is Ozzy the second person to serve on the jury 3 times? Behind Rupert in PI, AS, and HvV

  4. This is fun.
Parvati, Amanda, Andrea and Ozzy are the only 4 people to play 3 times (or more) who made the merge each time.
But Parvati, Amanda, Andrea and Rupert are the only 4 people to play 3 times (or more) who never were voted out premerge

  5. It should be noted that in all seasons featuring a full cast of returning players, the more women made up the merge tribe than men.
    – In Survivor: All Stars, Chaboga Mogo is made up of 5 women and 4 men
    – In Survivor: Heroes vs Villains, the Yin Yang tribe is made up of 6 women and 4 men
    – In Survivor: Cambodia, 7 women and 6 men made up the Orkun tribe
    – In Survivor: Game Changers, Maku Maku is composed of 8 women and 5 men

  6. I thought Ciera accumulated 33 votes. Also, all 13 person merge tribes have voted out a woman first.

      • But when Rupert was a three-time player, he became a three-time player to make merge every time. Boston rob was a three-time player who made merge twice, then a four-time player who made merge 3 times.
