Former Survivor Contestants on Season 31 of The Amazing Race

Will we see Survivor v Big Brother on the next season of Amazing Race?

Avengers: Infinity War may only be the second most ambitious crossover event in history, as the next season of The Amazing Race looks set to feature contestants from all three of CBS’ reality franchises, Survivor, Big Brother and, of course, Amazing Race itself.

Earlier today, TMZ reported that season 31 of Amazing Race will be “an all-BB” edition, with teams made up of former “Big Brother” contestants. Later, Reality Blurred published an article claiming that “Amazing Race alumni have also been cast and confirmed as teams on the new season” for what would be a Big Brother vs. TAR all-star edition.

Now, Inside Survivor has learned that a selection of former Survivor players have also been contacted to take part in this colossal crossover season. Who those contestants are is not yet known.

It wouldn’t be the first time that Survivor or Big Brother contestants have appeared on the Emmy Award-winning reality competition show. Previous Survivor alumni to take part in the race around the world include Rob and Amber Mariano, Jenna Morasca and Ethan Zohn, and Keith Tollefson and Whitney Duncan. While Big Brother has been represented by the likes of Jeff and Jordan, Rachel and Brendon, and most recently, Cody and Jessica, who won season 30.

TMZ credits Cody and Jessica for Amazing Race’s uptick in ratings last season and believes that is why the show is reaching into the well yet again. But as Reality Blurred points out, while the controversial couple may have brought over a section of Big Brother fans, the show also benefited from a move to a Wednesday night timeslot.

More information will be revealed as we get it. Stay tuned.

  • The time period move was the main reason; where was it previously…at 10p and before that on Fridays? The BB cast likely drew some additional cross over interest but a move to a more accessible time really helped.

    • Yeah, unless there are 2 million Cody & Jessica fans who are all Neilsen households, then no, they are not the reason for TAR30’s increased viewership.
