Each week here on Inside Survivor we will be running a fan poll to determine the Player of the Week in Survivor South Africa. Readers can vote for the player that impressed them the most with their strategic gameplay, social skills, and overall performance. The poll will close on Wednesday.
In the fifth episode of Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island, we saw a double elimination, as 26-year-old corporate sales executive and entrepreneur Carla Gubb and 36-year-old marketing officer Thoriso M-Africa both saw their torches snuffed.
Thoriso had felt like an outcast on her tribe from the start, but she refused to go down without a fight. With the help of Tyson Zulu’s idol parchment, she tried convincing some of her fellow tribemates that she had an idol and wasn’t afraid to use it. However, after she threw Tyson under the bus, she lost the trust of one of the handful of people on her side. In the end, the tribe called Thoriso’s bluff, sending her home.
On the other tribe, Carla seemed to have gotten herself in a better position following last week’s blindside of Paul Cupido. Yet, her desire to shake things up and go after Santoni Engelbrecht caused some red flags. While she still had Wardah Hartley on her side, the rest of the tribe grouped together to vote out the young Cape Town native.
The winner of last week’s poll was once again Santoni with 162 Votes (37.33%).
