Survivor: Heroes v Healers v Hustlers

Next Time On Survivor – Episode 3

Tillie Reilly makes her predictions for the next episode of Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.

Hey guys, we’re back with Next Time On Survivor and love is in the air for this upcoming episode. Before we jump into checking out the preview, I want to look back on my predictions I made for last week’s episode.

Previously On Survivor

Honestly, I thought I would’ve done better. I predicted 1 ½ things correct – the Hustlers went to tribal council and I was 50% accurate when I said Cole would find the idol.

Other than that, I said Ali would be in trouble this week, everyone would like Patrick, and Joe would possibly be in trouble. Instead, Ali was making moves, nobody likes Patrick, and Cole literally told Joe where to find the idol. I’ve never played Survivor… but I’m pretty sure you don’t tell someone where the idol is.

Overall, I give myself a D- for the effort. I’m looking for redemption this upcoming week.

Alright, lets jump into checking out the preview!

Joe DOES have an idol

Sorry, I couldn’t title this without referencing Jay.

The episode title ‘My Kisses Are Private’ obviously points at Cole and Jessica. In the preview, you see them both laying on the beach, and Jessica kisses Cole on the cheek. In the short preview shown after the episode, Cole also spills to Jessica that Joe does have the idol and he doesn’t like that Joe has all of the power in the game. With Jessica and Cole being a pair in voting, and Mike not liking Joe since he was interrogated in the first episode, that’s an easy three votes if they wanted to make a move and attempt to blindside Joe while he has the idol.

Joe mentioned in the latest episode that he doesn’t like that Cole knows that he has the idol. Could this turn into Joe vs. Cole? Either way, I feel that if the Healers attend tribal, no matter who goes home, it will be a blindside.

NFL player with a Fishbach edit

It seems like Alan has cooled down a little bit since making JP reveal his ‘idol,’ but he doesn’t look like he is doing so well on the ‘surviving’ aspect of Survivor. Watching Alan struggling with a coconut in the preview, I get flashbacks from Cook Islands when Parvati cut her finger with a machete. By Episode 3, the castaways are roughly around Day 7 or 8-ish, and Alan still can’t open a coconut. Stephen Fishbach couldn’t break firewood, but he could at least open up a coconut right?

Side-note: I want to throw my input in here and say that I traveled a few months ago and found a coconut stand. I bought a coconut and asked if I could try to open it with their machete to channel my inner-Survivor skills. I did it in about two minutes. Alan is a professional NFL player. The amount of muscle in his big toe is probably the amount of muscle I have in the arm I used to chop the coconut.

Since Alan seems to be cooling off and not going crazy and jumping to conclusions, I feel like he may have a shot to reconnect with Ben and get himself back into this game, but he will really have to work on his social game to prove he is worth keeping.

“Are ya’ll stupid?” – Patrick Bolton

Once again, it looks like the Hustlers are still having problems. In the previous episode, we learned that Patrick is loud, annoying, and people feel as if aligning with him is a liability. Going into this next episode, he’s still a main focus. He is shown being the center of attention, calling people stupid and saying “Ya’ll are all pissing me off now.” If Lauren really doesn’t like Patrick as much as she says, there’s a possibility she could release those feelings and put herself in an even worse position.

In the short preview after the episode, Ryan makes it clear that Patrick and Lauren hate each other. To me, Lauren just doesn’t fit in with the rest of the Hustlers. She’s a pretty quiet, hardworking woman who is stuck on a tribe with people who have completely different personalities. Even though Patrick is annoying, I still think the numbers are in his favor if the Husters were to return to tribal.

Overall, before this season began, I think everyone expected the Hustlers to be decimated by the Healers and Heroes but they have surprisingly held their own weight in challenges.

Predictions

Time to get my redemption!

Who is going to tribal?

All the Healers do is win-win-win no matter what. It’s a toss-up between the Heroes and Hustlers, but I’m going to predict the Hustlers go to tribal for a second week in a row based on the negative views we are getting from them in the preview. The Heroes seemed to have calmed down a bit since the marooning. The vibe and mood of a tribe can definitely effect performances in a challenge.

Who’s on the chopping block?

Healers: I think Joe is definitely on the bottom coming into this next episode. Even though he has an idol, which technically would put him in the power position, Cole doesn’t trust Joe at all, and he wants him gone. I smell a blindside as soon as Joe goes to tribal, whether it’s when the Healers lose or whenever there is a swap.

Heroes: Alan or JP. Ben and Chrissy are in complete control of who goes home. Everyone thinks they’re aligned with them while in reality, Ben and Chrissy both don’t know who they want to move forward with. The power alliance has two options – go with an unpredictable Alan or go with someone who got called out for having an immunity Idol, even if he didn’t. Rumors can scare people.

Hustlers: After last week, even though Patrick is annoying, Lauren doesn’t seem to fit in with the tribe as a whole. Even if Ali wanted to target Patrick again, I don’t think she could get the votes. Devon and Patrick seem cool with each other and Ryan probably wouldn’t turn his back on Devon to vote with Ali. Lauren just doesn’t seem like a very sociable person, and you have to be social to maneuver yourself from being in a position on the bottom to a position of safety.

Current Winner Prediction

If edits were as obvious as they used to be, I’d be #TeamTurtleneck all the way, but I think Ryan has too big of an edit this early on in the season for him to go all the way to Final 2 or 3 and win. So going into Episode 3, I’m going to go with Ben as my winner prediction. He is mentally aware and strategic about who he wants to work with and why. He’s also really likable and was the only name that wasn’t brought up to possibly vote against at the first tribal.

Alrighty guys, thanks for reading Next Time On Survivor. That’s all for this week but if you have other predictions or just want to talk Survivor, feel free comment below and tweet me @tilliereilly.

  1. Watching Ben makes me think of Sarah in Cagayan. good premerge then gone at merge.
I agree that Lauren would go if Hustlers go to tribal. But I think Heroes go and Ben comes to his senses and sends chrissy or alan home.
    Winner pick still cole

      • Yes because people never turn on their allies the episode after making an alliance. But I agree that it isn’t likely that he flips but i’m still hopeful as long as it is one of those 2, Chrissy or Alan i’m happy

    • lol, idk. Cole has 0 strategy. Next thing he will end up telling everyone about how hes falling in love with Jessica
