Tribal Council
- Desi was voted out 7-1 after a tie vote.
- The original vote count was 4-4-1-1.
- She had a total of 11 votes cast for her at this tribal council.
- There are no female Healers remaining in the game.
- None of the male Healers have been voted out yet.
- Desi is the second African American to be the first jury member.
- The first was Alicia Calaway, 33 seasons ago in The Australian Outback.
- With Ben receiving a vote at this tribal council, everyone from the original Heroes tribe has at least one vote against them.
- Cole, Devon, Mike, and Ryan are now the only people without votes against them this season.
- Chrissy and JP have voted out five women in a row (Katrina, Roark, Ali, Jessica, and Desi).
- Chrissy voted for Joe at the initial vote, but voted for Desi on the revote.
- Every female that has cast a vote against Chrissy has now been voted out, and Chrissy has voted them all out (Roark, Ali, Jessica, and Desi).
- Both times Lauren has received a vote against her, the one person that voted for her was voted out at that tribal council.
- Desi is the first person that Mike and Cole have successfully voted out.
- Ryan has cast the most correct votes this season so far.

- Chrissy, JP, and Ryan have voted out all three female Healers.
- Ben’s pre-merge tribe colors (blue/red) and Devon’s pre-merge tribe colors (red/blue) combine to make the merged tribe color (purple).
Hidden Immunity Idol/ Secret Advantage
- Ryan found the hidden immunity idol in this episode.
- He is the first person from a starting tribe other than Soko to find a hidden immunity idol.
- Levu is the only starting tribe in which none of its original members found a hidden immunity idol, however Chrissy was given the “super idol” in the first episode by Ryan.
- He is the first person from a starting tribe other than Soko to find a hidden immunity idol.
- Lauren is the fifth person to have the opportunity to cast two votes at a tribal council, after Dan Foley in Worlds Apart, Stephen Fishbach in Cambodia, Tai Trang in Kaoh Rong, Debbie Wanner and Sarah Lacina in Game Changers.
- She’s the first person to have this type of advantage in which she had to forfeit her vote at one tribal council, but is able to vote twice at a future tribal council.

- Ben had the most confessionals this episode with 8.
- This is now the highest single-episode confessional count this season.
- He previously held the record with 7 confessionals in Episode 7.
- His post-merge confessional counts match the episode number (7 in Episode 7, 8 in Eepisode 8).
- He has the second highest confessional count now with 26, passing Chrissy who has 23.
- Ryan still has the most with 33.
- This is now the highest single-episode confessional count this season.
- Ashley is the only person to have 0 confessionals this episode.
- This is her first episode where she didn’t have a confessional.
Reward Challenge – “Air Raid”
- This challenge has been previously seen in Worlds Apart and Cambodia.
- Cole has won every reward challenge so far.
- This was the first reward challenge that Mike didn’t win this season.
- The first five people voted out participated in the Dream Team test run of this challenge.
- According to Ashley’s Twitter, Devon later confessed to making up the fact that it was his birthday on the day of the reward challenge that he won.
Immunity Challenge – “Ten Foot Pole”
- A version of this challenge has been previously seen in Samoa, South Pacific, and Cambodia.
- The exact version of this challenge has been previously seen in Millennials vs. Gen X.
- Both times this exact challenge was seen, it was won by a man (David Wright and Cole Medders).
- Desi was the last woman standing in both individual immunity challenges she participated in.
- Episode 7 has been the only one so far this season where Cole was vulnerable to be voted out.
- He won every pre-merge immunity challenge, and won the individual immunity challenge in this episode.

- Episode 8 received 8.85 million viewers and 1.7/6 in the Adults 18-49 Rating/Share.
Episode Title
- The episode title “Playing With the Devil” was said by Joe while discussing Ben.
- This episode title was originally “Knights of the Round Table” and was said by Ben at Tribal Council.
- Every episode title since Episode 5 has been said by either Joe or Ben.

Didn’t Jessica hold the record for most confessionals with 7 in episode 5? Technically she was the record holder since she was the first to get it.
Actually, Chrissy didn’t vote for Desi, even on the re-vote. She voted for Joe both times. JP is actually the only one to successfully vote out five women this season.
