Immunity/Reward Challenge – “Pairy Feral”
- The challenge name is a play on Perry Farrell, who is the lead singer of the band Jane’s Addiction.
- The first part of this challenge has been used in every season since Survivor 43.
- Lauren (Survivor 44) is the only woman to individually win this challenge.
- The endurance portion of this challenge was previously used in Fiji, Tocantins, Heroes vs. Villains, Redemption Island, Edge of Extinction, and Survivor 44.
- Lauren (Survivor 44) is the only woman to also individually win this challenge.
- None of the former Gata members made it to the second round of the challenge.
Confessionals
- Sam had the most confessionals this episode with 11.
- He also has the highest total confessional count with 56.
- Sue had the lowest number of confessionals this episode with 2.
- Caroline has the lowest total confessional count with 21.
- Rachel had had 7 confessionals in each of the past three episodes.
Tribal Council
- Sol was voted out 8-1.
- Sierra was also voted out 8-1 in the previous episode.
- This is the first time this season that only players who have previously received votes were voted for at the tribal council.
- Sol received a vote in episode 3, and Sue received votes in episode 2.
- There are now an equal number of players remaining in the game as have been voted out.
- Both players that received votes this episode (Sue and Sol) are the oldest man and woman from this season, have names that start with “S,” and have three letters in their first name.
- With Sol being eliminated, there are no more Lavo men left in the game.
- Both Sol Yi and Michelle Yi (Fiji) were voted out in 10th place
- Andy, Gabe, Genevieve, and Sue are the only remaining players who have voted at every tribal council they’ve attended.
- Lavo now has two players remaining (Genevieve & Teeny), Gata has three players remaining (Andy, Rachel, & Sam), and Tuku has four players left (Caroline, Gabe, Kyle, & Sue)
- Aysha and Kishan are the only people so far to be voted out back-to-back from the same starting tribes.
- This is the first time since Winners at War that the jury was announced by Jeff and shown walking into tribal council.
Ratings
- The eighth episode received 4.429 million viewers and 0.71 in the Adults 18-49 demo.
Episode Title
- The episode title “Nightmare Fuel” was said by Andy when talking about the journey challenge.
