Tribes

  • The Yanu tribe is at the same beach as Takali (Millennials vs. Gen X), Mana/Makumaku (Game Changers), Soko (Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers), Naviti/Lavita (Ghost Island), Jabeni (David vs. Goliath), Manu/Vata (Edge of Extinction), Lairo (Island of the Idols), Sele/Koru (Winners at War), Yase (Survivor 41), Vati/Kula Kula (Survivor 42), Vesi (Survivor 43), Ratu/Va Va (Survivor 44), and Belo (Survivor 45).
    • Wendell & Chris Underwood are the only winners to have their starting tribe on this beach.
    • Nobody from this beach has won in a new era season.
  • The Nami tribe is at the same beach as Vanua/Vinaka (Millennials vs. Gen X), Tavua (Game Changers), Yawa/Solewa (Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers), Malolo (Ghost Island), Tiva/Kalokalo (David vs. Goliath), Kama (Edge of Extinction), Vokai/Lumuwaku (Island of the Idols), Dakal (Winners at War), Luvu/Viakana (Survivor 41), Taku (Survivor 43), Baka/Gaia (Survivor 43), Soka (Survivor 44), and Reba/Dakuwaqa (Survivor 45).
    • This location has the most winners whose starting tribe was on this beach with 7 (Adam, Tommy, Tony, Erika, Maryanne, Gabler, and Dee).
      • Yam Yam is the only new era winner to not start the game at this beach.
      • Sarah was on Tavua and Ben was on Yawa after the tribe swaps, so this beach has produced a total of 9 winners who lived on this beach before the merge.
      • Malolo, Kama, and Soka are the only tribes on this beach to not produce a winner.
        • Soka is the only new era tribe on this beach to not produce a winner
      • David vs. Goliath is the only season where the winner was only on this beach during the merge and never at the beach pre-merge.
  • The Siga tribe is at the same beach as Yara (Winners at War), Ua (Survivor 41), Ika (Survivor 42), Coco (Survivor 43), Tika (Survivor 44), and Lulu (Survivor 45).
      • Yam Yam is the only winner to start at this beach.
      • This beach has only been used in the 40s seasons.

Reward Challenge – “Wear My Ring”

  • This is the first challenge Yanu has won this season.
  • Nami has won every challenge so far.
    • This was the first time they didn’t come in first place in a challenge

Immunity Challenge – “The Deep”

  • Variations of this challenge were previously used in Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Micronesia, Philippines, Cagayan, Millennials vs. Gen X, Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, Ghost Island, Survivor 41, and Survivor 43.
    • Yanu is the first purple tribe to compete in this challenge and lose.
      • Malakal (Micronesia), Solana (Cagayan), Takali (Millennials vs. Gen X), and Naviti (Ghost Island) all won this challenge.
  • Charlie is the only Siga member to compete in every challenge so far.
  • Nami has placed first, Siga has placed second, and Yanu has lost every immunity challenge so far.
  • Yanu is the fifth tribe in Survivor history to lose the first four immunity challenges.
    • Maraamu in Marquesas
    • Ulong in Palau
    • Ravu in Fiji
    • Matsing in Philippines
    • Tadhana in Blood vs. Water
      • This has only happened in seasons that were filmed in island countries located in the Pacific Ocean (Marquesas, Micronesia, Fiji, and The Philippines).
  • Yanu is the second tribe in a three-starting tribe season to lose the first four immunity challenges.
    • The first was Matsing in Philippines.
  • This is the first episode where all three tribes won at least one challenge.
  • Siga is the first new era green tribe to make it to episode 4 without losing any members.
    • Survivor 41 – Ua had lost Sara, Brad, & JD by episode 4.
    • Survivor 42 – Vati had lost Jenny by episode 4
    • Survivor 44 – Soka had lost Claire by episode 4.

Confessionals

  • Bhanu had the most confessionals in this episode with 10.
    • It’s the second episode in a row where he had the most confessionals.
  • Bhanu has the highest confessional count (35) of any player that’s been eliminated in episode 4.
  • In four episodes, Bhanu had more confessionals than the following winners:
    • Parvati Shallow (Micronesia) – 32
    • Bob Crowley (Gabon) – 31
    • Sandra Diaz-Twine (Heroes vs Villains) – 27
    • Sophie Clarke (South Pacific) – 25
    • Chris Underwood (Edge of Extinction) – 23
    • Natalie White (Samoa) – 15
  • Tim & Venus had 0 confessionals this episode.
  • Tiffany & Kenzie have the highest confessional count of the remaining players with 28
  • Tim & Hunter have the lowest confessional count of the remaining players with 6.

Tribal Council

  • Bhanu was voted out 3-0.
    • He’s the second player this season to be voted out in a tribal council where he was ineligible to vote, following Jelinsky.
  • Bhanu is the fifth player to be voted out during an informal/verbal vote. The others are as follows:
    • Ian in Palau was verbally voted out by Tom after the final immunity challenge.
    • Brandon was verbally voted out by his tribe before an immunity challenge in Caramoan
    • Varner was verbally voted out during tribal council after outing Zeke in Game Changers.
    • Tori Meehan was verbally voted out during the split tribal council in Survivor 42.
      • Brandon, Tori, and Bhanu were all on purple tribes when this occurred.
      • This episode had the earliest instance of a verbal vote out.
  • He’s the second Indian-American player to be voted out on day 9 after Swati in Survivor 42.
  • The three Yanu tribe members whose names were alphabetically first have been eliminated, while the three members whose names are alphabetically last are still in the game.
  • Q is the highest ranking man from Yanu.
  • Jess is the only player who’s been eliminated so far to cast a vote when she was eliminated.
  • Kenzie, Q, and Tiffany have voted together at all three tribal councils.
  • Both men from Yanu that have been voted out went to the journey and lost their votes.
  • Seasons 44-46 had an LGBTQ+ player be eliminated in 15th place.
    • Survivor 44 – Claire
    • Survivor 45 – Sean
    • Survivor 46 – Bhanu
  • With Bhanu being eliminated, nobody that’s left in the game has any votes cast against them.
    • This is the latest point in a season where this has happened.
  • Both new era purple starting tribes have lost three members by the 4th episode.
    • Survivor 44 – Tika lost Bruce, Helen, & Sarah.
    • Survivor 46 – Yanu lost Jelinsky, Jess, & Bhanu.

Ratings

Episode Title

  • The episode title “Don’t Touch the Oven” was said by Kenzie when talking about Bhanu being like a toddler who doesn’t listen to their parents.
    • This is the second episode title in a row where someone was referring to Bhanu.

Survivor Birthdays

  • This week’s episode aired on Betsy Bolan (Samoa), Woo Hwang (Cagayan & Cambodia), and Swati Goel’s (Survivor 42) birthday.
