Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor-related statistics and information based off the latest episode of Survivor 43.

Immunity Challenge: “Over-Extended”

  • Versions of this challenge have been used previously in Samoa, South Pacific, Cambodia, Millennials vs. Gen X, Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, Ghost Island, Edge of Extinction, and Winners at War.
    • This season is the first time a green tribe competed in this challenge.
  • Only Baka members have won individual immunity so far.
    • In every post-merge episode a Baka member has either won individual immunity and/or been voted out.
      • Episode 6: Elie was voted out.
      • Episode 7: Gabler won individual immunity.
      • Episode 8: Owen won individual immunity and Jeanine was voted out.
        • Sami is the only Baka member to make it to the merge and not be voted out or win individual immunity so far.
  • This was the first time five people sat out of the challenge for Jeff’s rice negotiation.
    • In Survivor 41 & 42 only four people sat out.
      • Survivor 41: Naseer, Ricard, Shan, & Xander sat out.
      • Survivor 42: Drea, Lindsay, Maryanne, & Omar sat out.
      • Survivor 43: Cassidy, James, Jesse, Karla, & Sami sat out.
        • Every time they’ve done this negotiation, the person voted out that episode was not one of the sit-outs.
  • This is the first time in the “new era” where the rice negotiation immunity challenge didn’t have a reward challenge earlier in the episode.

Advantage/Hidden Immunity Idol

  • It was revealed in the episode that Jesse currently has Jeanine’s immunity idol which was thought to have been flushed when Dwight was voted out.

Confessionals

  • Sami had the most confessionals this episode with 6.
  • Noelle had the least amount of confessionals this episode with 1.
  • Cody is still in the lead for most confessionals with 36.
    • The only episode where he wasn’t in the lead for confessionals was episode 1.
  • Noelle & Ryan are tied for least confessionals with 16.
  • This is the first episode since the premiere where everyone got at least one confessional.

Tribal Council

  • Jeanine was voted out 9-2.
    • The only other player in Survivor that was voted out 9-2 was Ozzy Lusth (his second time being voted out in South Pacific).
    • Jeanine is the only player in Survivor history that was voted out 9-2 on their first and only time being voted out.
  • Jeanine has the most votes cast against her this season with 9.
  • Jeanine was voted out on day 16.
    • The most recent player voted out on day 16 was Chanelle in Survivor 42.
      • All three players voted out on day 16 of the “new era” were women and the first jury member.
        • Tiffany in Survivor 41
        • Chanelle in Survivor 42
        • Jeanine in Survivor 43
    • Jason in Island of the Idols was the most recent man voted out on day 16.
    • There have been 19 players voted out on day 16 and 13 of them were women.
    • Anthony Robinson in Fiji was the first player voted out on day 16.
  • There are no more female Baka members left in the game.
  • Cassidy, Karla, & Noelle are the only women left in the game.
  • Cody, James, Jesse, & Sami are the only players with a perfect voting record at this point.
    • None of the remaining women have a perfect voting record.

Ratings

Episode Title

  • The episode title “Preposterous” was said by Cody; he painted it on the boat with Sami.
    • This is Cody’s third episode title
