CBS has announced its upcoming midseason schedule, including the premiere of Survivor 44, which will debut on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 8:00 PM with a two-hour episode. The show will continue in its regular Wednesday time-slot from March 8.

Survivor 44 wrapped up filming in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands in June 2022 and will once again feature 18 new castaways battling it out for the $1 million prize and the title of Sole Survivor. The season will continue with the “new era” format, meaning 26-days, three tribes, beware advantages, and no theme or location title.

It’s not yet known if the second episode will have a 90-minute run-time like Survivor 43‘s second episode. Earlier this month, the show’s host and executive producer Jeff Probst spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his desire for more 90-minute episodes.

“I actually think 90 minutes is a great length for a Survivor episode,” he told EW‘s Dalton Ross. “It means basically 63 minutes of total running time, and that’s similar to what you would find on a streaming service. But as producers, we need to know in advance so we can structure our creative ideas to accommodate the additional time.”
