Australian Survivor Season 3 Power Rankings (Round 3)

Former castaways Sarah Tilleke, Luke Toki and Tess O’Halloran face off!

While the battle between Champions and Contenders is playing out on the islands of Fiji, here on Inside Survivor, an even bigger showdown is taking place. That’s right, Aussie Power Rankings are back, and this time we’re upping the intensity, a Sarah Tilleke, Luke Toki, and Tess O’Halloran compete for the Inside Survivor Power Rankings crown!

Well, Round 2 is done, and in typical Australian Survivor fashion, we had a twist that meant no real eliminations. Therefore, last week’s rankings were essentially void, leaving our three rankers on the same points as Round 1. Luke and Tess joint first with 55 points, and Sarah closely behind at 54 points.

Now, onto how Round 3 will work…

EXILE BEACH BONUS

It’s guaranteed that one of either Anita or Tegan will be eliminated this week, therefore, to make the rankings a little less predictable, we are offering an Exile Beach Bonus! If a ranker places either Anita or Tegan as 1st in their rankings and that person wins the duel, the ranker will gain 5 bonus points. The risk, of course, being that should that person subsequently be eliminated at Tribal Council in the Monday or Tuesday episodes, the ranker would only gain 1 point for that elimination.

RULES

We use the Gordon Holmes format of Power Rankings. Each week the three power rankers create separate rankings based on least likely to most likely to be eliminated. The ranking of the player who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the rankers will earn. For example, if the person you ranked in 1st place is eliminated in the next episode, you will recieve 1 point. If the person you ranked in 20th place is eliminated, you will receive 20 points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the Australian Survivor Power Rankings Champion.

As Australian Survivor airs multiple episodes per week, the rankings will count for each episode aired that particular week. Placements are adjusted after each elimination to reflect the amount of players remaining and points are then recalculated.

Tegan
Cue “I’m a Survivor” by Destiny’s Child. You got this mamma! Although from my experience with gambling, I hope I haven’t just put my $500 (5 bonus points) on a Tegan coconut. Bring it home for me girl!
1
Fenella
I’m going to keep her at the top. If she gets past merge, she flies under the radar and I think half her mates will be on the jury vouching for her.
1
Mat
Hardly ever seen grumpily lying in the shelter or rolling his eyes at fellow tribemates’ general buffoonery, which I take to be Australian Survivor edgic to explain why Mat is numero uno right now.
2
Fenella
Hell Yes. I’m sniffing out a girls/boys quad alliance brewing between Shonella and Robjji... this keeps my girl Fen at the top of my list. She is not in danger of getting targeted out of these four, because she’s cleverly not been too strategically dominating and physically she doesn’t read as a threat (although I’m preparing to see her smash it... like... last girl standing in the sack challenge... all I’m saying.) She’s positioned herself in some strong numbers with a good amount of protection around her for the merge approach. YES FEN!
2
Brian
I got a feeling he’s a dark horse. He’s been on the right side of the numbers and you don’t see him talk too much strategy. I got a feeling he has a good gauge on who is with who. Will make merge I think.
2
Sharn
Remains stealthily undercover. I imagine she writes a jungle diary, like, ‘day 17, still pretending I don’t drink single-origin lattes and use proper grammar regularly.’
3
Shonee
Another queen in my books, I feel these girls have used their charm and their smarts perfectly to position themselves well in a tribe that otherwise would have targeted them much earlier. And just quietly, this isn’t intentional, but this all-girls top 3 is making me super happy about the girl power happening in S3.
3
Tegan
Still predict that final 3 – being eliminated from the game, everyone will have a feeling she’s a goat now... if she comes back!
3
Lydia
3rd place standing going strong.
4
Robbie
Robbie isn’t going anytime soon. I’m not seeing much from him strategically, other than being in the right conversations, but hey at this point in the game, that’s enough. Challenge assets (that possess decent human being qualities) seldom get targeted at this point in the game.
4
Heath
Big Heath… I'm getting Locky vibes, so may get close to the end but may fall short. Good chance to take out the whole thing. If no one sees him coming they must be blind cos he's like 11ft tall!
4
Steve W
“Steve” has a soft side! Sweet. Now let's do some lying and manipulating soon, please.
5
Benji
That’s what I like to see from a man with Survivor in his bloodline! IMO brilliant use of a lie - it has no way of being properly disproven, worst case he argues he said/she said. Secondly, he has brought in numbers that were seemingly going elsewhere, to form what I’m predicting will be a bomb alliance of 4. I would love to rank him higher as a thank you for great TV, but given he headed up this move he now needs to tread lightly to avoid being identified as the head of the snake. Also, he needs some sort of smack on the wrist for not splitting the vote!!! Instead, I’ll put the Benji alliance right at the top of this ranking, because these four ain’t going nowhere from my perspective.
5
Monika
Still feel like she's got a good chance to win. No one has even mentioned her. Completely underestimated, quiet achiever.
5
Robbie
Good to see Robbie distance himself from Zach, and sticking by Benji is likely to provide a sturdy medium-rare meat shield for a few rounds yet. Safe to merge from where I’m sitting.
6
Sam
This guy isn’t going home because Channel Ten can’t take a hit like that to their ratings. Sam’s TV time = Gold.
6
Mat
Got the idol on him and if he dodges a bullet and plays it right he can win.
6
Heath
I’ve heard some excellent theories for how Heath could have held onto his idol and won out on exile, then re-entered the game with one idol and zero power-couple-threat-factor. But to my mind, with the style of gameplay we’ve seen so far, bending over backwards to keep his ally in the game will be a great plea at the end (and one that would allow him to go to the end with Tegan if he wanted to). Plus, an ally is worth ten idols in this game… Ok ok, maybe 2 idols. An ally is worth 2 idols.
7
Brian
Like Sam, I live for the Brian snippets and don’t think Channel Ten can afford a loss of such entertaining content. I’m also still rooting for him to come out as a loveable villain in this season... come on Brian you know you want to!
7
Steve W
I feel like Steve is Mat's right-hand man and once he falls, so will Mat.
7
Sam
A major plotline from the Champs this week was that Sam thinks they should brush their teeth, based on Brian’s mouth-to-mouth. Doesn’t feel like pre-boot chat really.
8
Sharn
I was living for the brains package in the edit last week. I’m strongly hoping that this foreshadows her making it deep into this game. I sense we haven’t seen the best of Sharn yet, but for now, I will revel in the fact that she’s sitting pretty in an alliance stronghold of her own making.
8
Paige
I don’t know why everyone’s hating on her, I think she's all gravy.
8
Benji
Oh hi Benji! Have you been there for long? Well, anyway, great to see some gameplay and some intentional move-making! Hopefully you didn’t stick your neck out too far…
9
Mat
With the slow emergence of brains over brawn power I’m getting a little more worried for my hero Mat. I’m hoping this week he starts focusing on positioning himself in a way that will protect him from an oncoming Jack-attack. Also... does he have an idol or nah?
9
Sharn
The most surprised I have been by any of the contestants. She’s in there and getting amongst it, telling people who needs to go.
9
Fenella
Great to see Fenella giving it back to Jono in the challenges! I feel like her storyline is yet to come. Holding her own in the challenges, and with strong social skills, I would be surprised to see Fenella go before merge.
10
Paige
Yes Paige! You did it!! I don’t know how, because the editors don’t seem to care about explaining anything in this game, but by some miracle, you hustled your way back into the centre of the tribe and further up the rankings list! That’s a Survivor!
10
Robbie
He’s staying where he is because I don’t want to eat dog s**t, but he’s the person who I have done a total 180 on. He is way less abrasive than Zach. Can mend relationships fast and is quite genuine and nice. Goes hard in challenges too.
10
Brian
Brian didn’t advance the plot much beyond his bowling ball days this week.
11
Heath
I love/hated this week for my boy Heath. His tribal council was delicious to watch, although I’m left feeling worried that Heath and Tegan (Teath) have a lot of work to do to come back from the damage the Benji attack caused. I don’t want to believe they are in trouble, but my Survivor senses are tingling.
11
Shonee
Will hate that Benji deceived her, Michelle vibes hahahhaha! Might take it personally… WATCH OUT BENJI!
11
Shonee
Coupling up with Benobbie was not a bad plan for Shonella when they still had Anita, but without her, they lose the power in that dynamic. They probably would have been well enough insulated until merge except that I smell a swap (plllllease Survivor overlords!) on the horizon, and I’m not sure how they will fare with the Champs in camp.
12
Jackie
Speaking of Survivor senses, I’m starting to think that Jackie may be gaining some sway in this tribe. An oncoming Jack-attack seems rife with potential.
12
Sam
This bloke has got the game, plays the game, has a laugh, tries to bluff and wants to keep the tribe strong. But have a feeling a tribe swap may screw him and they will vote him off – predict a tribe swap elimination.
12
Monika
All I have to add here is that the teddy was a top-notch high tech loved ones gift and my family should obviously be ashamed!
13
Monika
This means as Jackie’s right-hand man, Monika is sitting pretty, both metaphorically and literally.
13
Benji
Pulls off a move and may get bitten on the ass for it. Needs a tribe swap if Tegan wins!
13
Zach
Maybe the best thing on the internet this week was the realisation that Zach is Gaston. I’m just sad that Robbie isn’t really his LeFou.
14
Lydia
Lydia is really hogging the Champs screen time, which makes me feel the editors are wringing the Lydia cloth before she’s gets targeted in a potential Brains v Brawns surprise attack.
14
Zach
Rubbing up a few people in a bad way. He loves pushing the sexist man card. If he gets to the end I doubt he will get one vote to win, hahahahabut good TV. I predict a women power blindside episode, surely.
14
Paige
Well, I’m stumped. What did she even do to get out of that hole?! Unfortunately, I don’t know if Paige has moved far enough away from the hole to avoid falling back in - if whoever wins the duel goes back into the Champs tribe or a new swap tribe, Paige may still be left without much of a cushion before people (for some inexplicable reason) start looking at her again as an easy vote.
15
Steve W
I get the vibe that as the gameplay ramps up, Steve is going to tap out. Survivor is not a game centred around honour... which I feel might become too much for Steve to remain invested in.
15
Lydia
Still can’t get a good gauge on her game and where she sits.
15
Tegan
So, I fully believe Tegan is going to win this duel and have an inspiring resurrection story… but I’m playing the odds here because strategy within strategy is what we’re all about. I’m willing to risk my 5 bonus points by not putting Tegan first (and I’m pretty confident both “Risk-Queen Sarah Tilleke” and “Loose Cannon Luke” will put Tegan top for their chance at 5 bonus points). But by risking my 5 points, if Tegan does lose the duel or goes out in the next round, I stand to gain up to 14 points over those suckers!
16
Zach
I feel like Zach’s song has been sung and will be left by the wayside as the girls/boys quad alliance moves onwards and upwards.
16
Shane
One of my favourite personalities in the game atm…. Played the idol wrong now sits defenceless. Will only stay in the game because they will say, 'we can get her out anytime'.
16
Jackie
Hopefully no more walls coming for Jackie this week.
17
Shane
Surely if Champs go to tribal this week, Shane goes.... right?? She’s an outcast in the numbers who doesn’t seem to enjoy being told what to do, as well as a huge challenge liability. It’s just sensible maths right?
17
Jackie
Worried after surviving the last vote, will go again to get Shane sent out but will get played.
17
Shane
Shane continues to adorably put her foot in it. She seemed completely oblivious to Mat muttering about keeping ‘cult secrets’ (I’m sure that’s what he said) when she was spilling the beans at the challenge about her idol play/blunder.
18
Anita
Look, the storyteller in me feels like Anita’s story has been told, whereas Tegan still has more fight in her yet. Looks like the queen Ant might be in trouble this week.
18
Anita
Well she got blindsided hard last week. Damn Girl! The power of the IDOL! I feel like Tegan has your number as Xach would say ahhahah!
18
Anita
If Anita makes it through this duel, she probably has a better chance surviving a few more rounds than Tegan does - I just don’t think I can back her dexterity from what we’ve seen so far. Again, prove me wrong!
