Survivor host Jeff Probst, producer Jeff Wolfe, and Survivor 46 runner-up Charlie Davis meet on the On Fire podcast to discuss the tenth episode of Survivor 47. On the episode, Charlie reveals where his relationship with Maria currently stands, what Probst thought regarding the rice exchange, and more.

When discussing how emotions can become too tangled up in a game like Survivor, Charlie revealed he and Maria haven’t spoken since Season 46 aired, as their once close relationship completely fractured after Charlie orchestrated Maria’s exit from the game and after Maria didn’t vote for Charlie to win. Charlie adds that he doesn’t know what the future might bring to their relationship but says the game is real, just as its fallouts are too, and pleads that the fans stop spreading hate.

Later, Probst gets asked what he thought when all players, plus a hesitant Sam, decided to exchange their Shots in Dark for a bag of rice and whether this exchange could cause less unpredictability. “I ultimately felt it was a very strong offer and quite likely to result down the line in at least one player regretting their decision,” Probst replies, and remarks to future players this might not be a likely scenario in future seasons.

Lastly, via fan questions, Probst discloses a few tidbits about the behind-the-scenes of the show: there are over 400 people in Survivor production spread out in various teams, with each dedicated to a crucial part of the show; there are some challenges where players aren’t allowed to wear shoes, and lastly, though each challenge may take weeks to build, once a challenge is done, it is immediately torn down, as another will immediately take its place.
