I debated back-and-forth over whether or not to do an End of Year Awards this year. It’s safe to say that 2020 has been one of the strangest and hardest years on record. The coronavirus pandemic has affected us all in different ways. In terms of Survivor, the show that we all love and that brings us here together; it’s certainly been an odd one.
The year kicked off with the monumental Winners At War, a celebration of 20 years of America’s greatest reality-show. Then the world stopped. The spread of COVID-19 caused the shutdown of production on future Survivor seasons, meaning no new Survivor for the rest of the year.
Usually, the End of Year Awards celebrates the two most recent US seasons, with categories reflecting the best episodes, characters, and moments (with one Best International Character category). However, as the only US season that aired this year was Winners At War, it felt rather pointless doing a full-on End of Year write-up. Initially, I was going to by-pass it completely. But after thinking it over, it felt harsh to skip over the End of Year Awards entirely.
So, instead, I had the Inside Survivor Patrons nominate their favorite episodes, characters, moments from Winners At War, plus their favorite International characters from Australian Survivor All-Stars. I then tallied those votes to determine the final four nominations (six in the character categories) for each of the categories.
Now, the Inside Survivor readers can vote on the overall winners from each category below.
