- Gaia is the 22nd green tribe in Survivor.
- It’s the 7th green merged tribe. The others are as follows:

Immunity Challenge “Eve 6”
- Neither of the pairs that had 1 man and 1 woman made it to the second round of the challenge.
- 3 M/M pairs and 1 F/F pair made it to the second round.
- The final part of the challenge lasted longer than it did in previous seasons.
- Previous record was 25 minutes, this one lasted almost 37 minutes.
- Gabler has been immune for all three tribal councils he attended this season.
- Episode 1: he had his hidden immunity idol.
- Episode 6: he was on the winning team for te “earn the merge” challenge.
- Episode 7: he won individual immunity.
- The water bucket portion of the challenge was previously used in Philippines, Blood vs. Water, and Worlds Apart.
- Coincidentally, Philippines and Worlds Apart had the same starting tribe colors as Survivor 43.
- This is the first time this challenge has been done in a season set in Fiji.
- Previously it’s been done in seasons set in the Philippines and Nicaragua.
- Gabler is the first man to win this challenge as a solo win.

- Monica won in Blood vs. Water
- Carolyn & Mike won in Worlds Apart
- Mike Skupin is the only Mike to compete in this challenge and lose.
The Summit
- This is the first odd numbered episode this season without a visit to The Summit.
Advantage
- James is the fourth player to receive the Knowledge is Power advantage.
- This is the first season where two separate people have been in possession of it.
Confessionals
- Jeanine had the most confessionals this episode with 6.
- Cassidy, Karla, and Ryan had 0 confessionals this episode.
- James is the only player from Coco to have confessionals this episode.
- Cody has the most confessionals with 33.
- Ryan has the least confessionals with 11.
Tribal Council
- Dwight was voted out 7-3-2.
- The only other 7-3-2 vote in Survivor was when John was voted out in David vs. Goliath.
- Two idols were played at that tribal council, negating all but the 3 votes for John, making Dwight’s vote out the only official 7-3-2 vote in Survivor.

- The episode title “Bull in a China Shop” was said by Owen when talking about having to deal with Gabler.
- This is his second episode title this season.
Written by
Gabler was not immune in episode 1, because he held his idol. If he had received votes, they would have counted, and he could have been voted out.
