CBS has announced its upcoming fall schedule, including the premiere of Survivor 43, which will premiere on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 8:00 PM with a two-hour episode. Interestingly, the second episode, airing September 28, will be a 90-minute special.
Survivor 43 wrapped up filming in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands in May 2022 and will once again feature 18 new castaways battling it out for the $1 million prize and the title of Sole Survivor. As with seasons 41 and 42, this season will not have a theme or location title, it will simply be referred to as Survivor 43 and will last 26 days.
The shortened length was originally due to the COVID-19 pandemic and mandatory 14-day quarantine eating into the production schedule. However, despite no longer needing to do the 14-day quarantine, production has decided to stick with the 26-day format and on-location reunion.
Survivor 43 will follow a similar format to seasons 41 and 42, with the 18 castaways divided into 3 tribes, no swaps, and recently introduced twists like Shot in the Dark and “earn the merge.” While CBS has yet to officially announce the cast, Inside Survivor revealed the season 43 castaways and the tribe divisions last month.
In other news, CBS also confirmed the premiere date for Season 34 of The Amazing Race, which will air immediately following the Survivor 43 premiere on September 21. The Big Brother Season 24 finale is also set for Sunday, September 25.

Is March 9th correct?
Fixed.
I really hope we’ll get 90 minute episodes from now on. CBS can make The Amazing Race 90 minutes too… I REALLY hope the winner of S43 REALLY deserves to win. I thought the 41 and 42 winners had lackluster winning games
I may not like the new 26 day format, but I love Survivor and will continue to watch. Faithfully!
This show is done. Could talk about it all day but most importantly… 26 days.
Survivor is my favorite reality show and as long as it still airs, I will watch it!
