Australian Survivor Season 3 Power Rankings (Round 2)

Former castaways Sarah Tilleke, Luke Toki and Tess O’Halloran face off!

While the battle between Champions and Contenders is playing out on the islands of Fiji, here on Inside Survivor, an even bigger showdown is taking place. That’s right, Aussie Power Rankings are back, and this time we’re upping the intensity, a Sarah Tilleke, Luke Toki, and Tess O’Halloran compete for the Inside Survivor Power Rankings crown!

Round 1 is in the books, and what a rollercoaster it was. After the first three episodes of the week – which saw the elimination of Damien, Steve K, and Jenna – Sarah and Tess were fighting it out at the top of the leaderboard with just one point separating them, while Luke was trailing 8 points behind second place. However, with the shock elimination of Moana in Episode 6, the “King of the Jungle” shot back up the charts, finishing the week tied with Tess for the top spot at 55 points apiece, while Sarah fell to third at 54 points. It truly is anyone’s game!

RULES

We use the Gordon Holmes format of Power Rankings. Each week the three power rankers create separate rankings based on least likely to most likely to be eliminated. The ranking of the player who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the rankers will earn. For example, if the person you ranked in 1st place is eliminated in the next episode, you will recieve 1 point. If the person you ranked in 20th place is eliminated, you will receive 20 points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the Australian Survivor Power Rankings Champion.

As Australian Survivor airs multiple episodes per week, the rankings will count for each episode aired that particular week. Placements are adjusted after each elimination to reflect the amount of players remaining and points are then recalculated.

1
Mat
At this point in the game, this is the guy that has it all! Challenge beast, a strong social standing in the tribe, no liabilities to protect and subsequently ostracise himself (RIP Damien and Mo)... and last but not least, a friggin secret idol!! (assuming he still has Mo’s). Look, the way things are going, edited favourites aren’t lasting long, so next week I am prepared to send old mate Mat way down the ranks, but right now he’s top dog in my books.
1
Fenella
I’m going to keep her at the top. If she gets past merge, she flies under the radar and I think half her mates will be on the jury vouching for her….
1
Mat
He’s even got his fan-girl Anita on the other tribe (I got flashbacks of Tara cheering on Locky from the other tribe), keeping him well cushioned for a swap.
2
Fenella
This might be biased, but I’m just the biggest Fenella Fan (I’m obsessed with her dancing Insta story highlights), so I won’t accept her as any lower than Top 3 at this point. Anyway, I digress, gameplay wise! I think she has an excellent way of disarming people with her charm. Paired with her strategy-above-all-else mentality (which I love), I feel this chick is going to make sure every vote moving forward will ensure security for her and her alliance, eyes on the prize ladies! I’m rooting hard for her to be this year's smiling assassin.
2
Brian
I got a feeling he’s a dark horse. He’s been on the right side of the numbers and you don’t see him talk too much strategy. I got a feeling he has a good gauge on who is with who. Will make merge I think.
2
Lydia
I stand by it. Third place finisher. Also, be more ripped.
3
Tegan
I was battling with putting Tegan 2nd or 3rd, putting aside my Fenella bias, I have reasons! Still undoubtedly one of the game's strongest players, what brought her from 2nd to 3rd has nothing to do with anything she’s specifically done, rather it was the loss of Jenna. With Jenna, she and Heath were the power alliance of their tribe, having both boys and girls wanting them on side. With strong numbers, they controlled the direction of the game. She has now been forced into the middle with Heath, I (obviously) have no problems with this position, it’s just riskier than where she was before now that she doesn’t have power in numbers. However, still a challenge asset with a great social standing, she has room to go anywhere in this game hence a top 3 spot!
3
Tegan
Heath will carry her deep in the game and she will make the decision at some point to write Heath's name down and will be sad about it like Jenna again. Predict that final 3!
3
Steve W
“Steve” seems to have bonded with Mat over teaching him perfect kettlebell technique in that ‘big balls’ challenge. Robbie and Zach must have been salivating.
4
Heath
Any bit of screen time with handsome Heath is good screen time! I love how logically this guy plays, every vote so far has made perfect sense, leaving out emotional bias (my kinda style!). He knew he needed to sacrifice Jenna because if he fought too hard he may have ostracised himself unnecessarily. Keep playing smart Heath!
4
Heath
Big Heath… I'm getting Locky vibes, so may get close to the end but may fall short. Good chance to take out the whole thing. If no one sees him coming they must be blind cos he's like 11ft tall!
4
Heath
The BFG put a big old foot down this week and stomped right on his friend (and absolute champ, RIP Jenna), but he should have listened to his Mum-mate Tegan. Jenna’s loyalty is worth so much more to him at this stage. Better to lose the next three rounds with Jenna on board, rather than go into a swap or merge and allow the Bros’ biceps to meet up with Lydia and Commando’s biceps and form a biceps coalition to end us all.
5
Lydia
Whilst Lydia is currently voting in a way I personally could care less for (keep the tribe strong), I’m sensing that she will switch gears approaching merge and start playing a more alliance focused game to protect herself rather than the tribe. This one is a fierce competitor and is all about the end game, meaning that she will make those cutthroat moves if she needs to (and I hope she does).
5
Monika
Still feel like she's got a good chance to win. No one has even mentioned her. Completely underestimated, quiet achiever.
5
Sharn
I loved her foresight in bullying Mo into the vote to flush Shane’s idol. I could feel her pain when Mo was Just. Not. Getting. It. A boss lady after my own heart.
6
Sharn
Sharn is a woman who gets Survivor. Shout out to Sharn being the sole reason Shane’s idol got flushed in the last tribal (Close one Mo!). That tribal was a perfect example of how Sharn is always crunching the numbers and acutely aware of what steps need to be taken to best further her game. I loved how she played it off as an honourable mercy killing, “Let us go through the process” *ahem* “Let’s flush this idol stoopie!!”. She is a great example of how to play the game in a way that doesn’t read as overtly strategic. This is how you get far in the game and control your destiny.
6
Mat
Got the idol on him and if he dodges a bullet and plays it right he can win. He lost Mo though, so could hurt his game.
6
Sam
Star boy is well ingratiated with the TV stars.
7
Benji
Benji thus far is taking the UTR route, which always has certain pay-offs like distance in the game... however, Survivor is a once in a lifetime opportunity, why not play a little!? I’m keen as a bean to see his Survivor pedigree play this week and see if his social game translates into voting sway. Fingers crossed for Benji!
7
Steve W
I feel like Steve is Mat's right-hand man and once he falls, so will Mat.
7
Tegan
Tegan was right to advocate for Jenna in the last round, but it hurts me that she didn’t rally a strategic argument for it, and it hurts her power a tiny bit that she didn’t get her way. Still, she’s working the middle with plenty of friends either side.
8
Shonee
Shonee is nestled in a tight alliance who’s focus seems to on be future security, this hopefully means good things for her. If anyone is to take the hit come an alliance attack it will be Anita and as we can see Zach is adamant about coming for the girls, so safety in numbers ladies!
8
Benji
Benji who? Hahhah! Nah, I’m still thinking he goes far. I want him to cause some drama though. Do me proud Benji and stir the pot. Blindside Zach hahahhaha!
8
Benji
Benji, I hope you know that participating in the Testicalliance Mansquat Demo hurt your credibility. I think you might get to speak this week though, so I’m keeping the faith.
9
Robbie
As a big challenge asset and a personality that doesn’t suck, I won’t be getting worried for Robbie until we start approaching merge. His alliance with Benji also seems solid, so he has power in some numbers at this point. Although, he is definitely not making a great impression on the Champs, so longevity wise, he isn’t setting himself up great for a post-merge game.
9
Sharn
Wow! The most surprised I have been by any of the contestants. She’s in there and getting amongst it, telling people who needs to go.
9
Robbie
Why is Locky 2.0 always so sad? He’s probably not going home super soon so he should cheer up.
10
Sam
I love Sam, he’s both a stand out in his tribe as well as non-threatening. Keeping his options and relationships open, he still has a lot of room to move around and avoid the heat. Good gameplay for this stage in the game, though I’d like to see him take control over a move at some point.
10
Robbie
Daaaamn, he’s staying where he is because I don’t want to eat dog s**t, but he’s the person who I have done a total 180 on. He is way less abrasive than Zach. Can mend relationships fast and is quite genuine and nice. Goes hard in challenges too.
10
Fenella
She’s got the sass to pull off some moves (if not game moves, then definitely some dance moves). Go girl!
11
Brian
I’m surprised by how much I like Brian. We haven’t seen much of his gameplay per say but I’m getting loveable villain vibes. When the gameplay ramps up I feel he may be one of the first to stray from an ‘easy vote’.
11
Shonee
Will decide to overthrow the mum of the tribe Anita and take her position as true queen of her clan. Hahahah, I watch too many movies.
11
Brian
So far we’ve seen Brian 1. sit in a hammock and 2. be a bowling ball.
12
Steve W
Steve is currently lacking what Mat R has in abundance. Commando is undoubtedly a challenge asset (let’s be real, it’s a tribe full of challenge assets), but what I’m seeing is that the guy likes his solitude and isn’t overly involved socially. Needing ‘me time’ isn’t a great personal requirement to have out there. As the days go on, being in a complex social environment can become more and more mentally grating. Gaining threat status is an inevitability for him, so his ability to make himself a social fixture will be his saving grace should his alliance come under surprise attack by Jackie and co.
12
Sam
This bloke has got the game, plays the game, has a laugh, tries to bluff and wants to keep the tribe strong. But have a feeling a tribe swap may screw him and they will vote him off – predict a tribe swap elimination.
12
Shonee
I’m so keen to see what happens with Shonee if she can mix it up, but she needs to break out from her clique.
13
Zach
This muppet rates low on my rankings, and even lower in my opinion of him. Exceedingly poor social game. His only function would be as a meat(head) shield at this point.
13
Lydia
Still unsure about her. She is an absolute beast though, if I was walking down a dark alley at night I would want her there to protect me. I would like to see her and Ziggy have an arm wrestle, hahahhaha!
13
Monika
Still flawless, still clueless.
14
Monika
With Jackie ranking so low, Monika isn’t far off. She seems a little on the outs in a tribe of such physical players. If Jackie goes, there are still options in Sam, Shane and maybe Brian, but as the proportion of loyalty-driven athletes in the tribe steadily rises she may struggle to find somewhere to fit in. If I were Monika (and let’s face it, I was S2’s token model) I’d be mediating this growing strength pretty soon.
14
Paige
She f***ed, hahahahha! I don’t know why everyone’s hating on her, I think she's all gravy. Maybe shouldn’t have dobbed to the other team in front of her own but she needs to start doing something different or she a goner.
14
Zach
Last week I was annoyed to find myself liking Zach - boy did he deliver with the reasons to turn that around! It is going to be so delicious when he falls to his demise. So delicious. Hopefully his bros will be able to figure out how to do the dishes after.
15
Jackie
At this point, Jackie and Shane are the two obvious Champ vote-outs. What Jackie at least has over Shane is an alliance, but as far as I can see, Jackie’s numbers aren’t totally solid (baring Monika). So come tribal, if she starts copping heat because she can’t be trusted, her allies might not rally to protect her given that challenge wise she is a hinderance. This makes me worried for her. A worthy player, but at a point there is only so much you can do if you’re a drowning cat... (meow).
15
Jackie
Has got skills and the ability to shake the vote off her, but has a very tough uphill battle. And everyone knows how much she struggles with stuff that has an incline!
15
Anita
Physical strength is kind of a big deal on this season, as is having testicles. If you don’t have a ton of the above, you can’t afford to be blindsiding those who do and alienating those who don’t. Should have made a friend of Paige.
16
Anita
We know they are your girls Anita! Shhhhhhh!! I’m worried about how Anita is playing the game. She’s coming off as a stick in the mud... and no one wants to play with that. Consistently demonstrating such an undying loyalty for ‘her girls’ only gives the impression that she’s not someone to even bother attempting to take deep into the game. Her ‘people’ are so set in stone that when you out an alliance like that so early on, you are just asking for it to be attacked at some point. Watch out Queen Ant!
16
Anita
A sales lady. She’s that person in the middle of the shops that says 'Hi, can I talk to you?' and you have to say 'Sorry, in a rush'. Then an hour later you have to walk back past them and you both see each other and she does that little smile. But really she's thinking, 'In a rush my ass, you liar'. Then gives you the cold shoulder every time you go to the shops again.
16
Shane
The show was reallllly flogging Shane’s Olympic stats last week, so we must be running out of time to make the most of that. Also, is Shane in the Top 5 worst Survivor liars we’ve ever seen?
17
Shane
Oh Shane, cute as anything and I love her but currently, she’s kind of a mix of all the wrong things. Challenge hinderance, outward and blindingly obvious ‘gameplay’ as well as socially being a little on the outs... for her sake let’s hope the Champs can go on an immunity run to.
17
Zach
Rubbing up a few people in a bad way. He loves pushing the sexist man card. If he gets to the end I doubt he will get one vote to win, hahahahabut good TV. I predict a women power blindside episode, surely.
17
Jackie
Jackie vs The Wall is a major plotline, which unfortunately doesn’t bode that well for her success in the game. Having said that, I hope the fact that we often see snakes-then-Jackie montages means that she’s going to slither out of this.
18
Paige
If I was out there I would be making Paige feel secure and taking her under my wing, a vote is a vote! Why the tribe is leaving Paige sooo out in the cold is baffling me. Look, the chick has obviously got herself a reputation for being untrustworthy, but it’s not like you need to tell her everything that’s on your mind! Her desire to be involved is currently going to waste, which can only mean one thing... she is un-salvageable for this next vote.
18
Shane
One of my favourite personalities in the game at the moment. I was hoping she called Sam's bluff, but she didn’t. The thing is, she’s still old and unless that changes… she outty! Hahahhaha. The tribe wants her gone.
18
Paige
What did Paige even do?!?!? I really, really want Paige to get out of this spot, but she might be the common enemy (whyyyyyy?) that unites Anita and the bro douches.

  1. I love reading the vastly different perspectives all three of these former players bring to the table! It also helps that they were three of my favorites from the gem that was last season. I think right now, Sharn and Finella might be my favorites. I’m just waiting for the moment that Zach gets his torch snuffed. Can’t stand that guy.
