Survivor: Ghost Island

Next Time On Survivor – Episode 8

Tillie Reilly makes her predictions for the next episode.

“Fear Keeps You Sharp” – Angela Perkins, Chris Noble, Chelsea Townsend, Libby Vincek, Desiree Afuye, Sebastian Noel, Wendell Holland, Kellyn Bechtold, Donathan Hurley, Jenna Bowman, Laurel Johnson, Michael Yerger, and Domenick Abbate on the eighth episode of Survivor: Ghost Island, airing Wednesday, April 11 (8:00-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Last week’s episode wasn’t much of a shocker. With the edit that he got, I’m surprised Bradley lasted as long as he did but we also don’t know how life at camp was with him aside from what we were shown on TV. I actually really enjoyed Bradley’s character because it was something different and comedic when it came to him complaining about Malolo beach. After listening to his exit video, he said it only rained once! Try to imagine Bradley playing Survivor in Cambodia!

In all honesty, I was hoping Malolo would lose again so that we could see Michael pull a fast one on the other three original Naviti members with his idol.

Dom vs. Chris

We’re finally at the merge and the game is about to be kicked into full gear. I’m really excited to see how this merge plays out because while some people like Desiree and Kellyn might want to end Malolo completely, I think Dom is going to use them for votes.

When we check out the ‘Next Time’ preview shown after last week’s episode, it’s pretty obvious that this is the week the battle between Dom and Chris will come to an end. They have a relationship where they can’t cohabitate. I’d go into an in-depth analysis of who I think will come out on top, but I think Dom will easily win by playing the Legacy Advantage. He can use the advantage at either Final 13 or 6, and this first tribal at merge will be the Final 13. He could save it and not use it at all, but a majority of Naviti trusted Chris over Dom at the beginning of the game, so I don’t think they would side with Dom over Chris.

I have a feeling the alliance between Dom, Wendell and Laurel will stay solidified going into the merge. If they can bring in Michael, Donathan, and two others like Libby and Jenna, they would have the numbers. But considering Jenna and Sebastian are getting a little cozy together, I don’t think Jenna would backstab him. I believe Dom can get six people to side with him, but it won’t be enough votes, so he will use the Legacy Advantage to get Chris out.

Looking more at this alliance, if Michael sides with Dom and joins him, Wendell, and Laurel, that alliance will have three idols plus the Legacy Advantage. They are also really physical players and can win immunities. Kellyn’s group may seem like they swept pre-merge but I don’t think they will be able to hold up in the merge.

What about Ghost Island?

I read a bit on Reddit that some people think that Ghost Island is finished since we’ve made it to the merge. There are still nine more urns left to break open, so I don’t think Ghost Island will be over until the last urn is smashed, which will be at Final 5. I think the winner of the reward challenge will probably decide who goes to Ghost Island. Not every urn had a ‘prize’ though, so out of those nine remaining, maybe 3-4 have value.

What other advantages or idols can be found?

When looking back at the first preview for the season, I think all of those advantages and idols that were shown are also in this game. Which leaves us with Jay’s fake idol made by David, and Lauren Rimmer’s shell idol which Dr. Mike threw in the fire last season. So I think that is a definite two left to be found, but there are other possibilities like Dan’s extra vote that may to show up as well.

Predictions

Who is on the chopping block?

No doubt this week is all about Dom and Chis unless the commercial is trying to throw us off. If both Dom and Chris manage to survive this week, then I think it may come down to one of the Malolo members going home like Libby since she has been seen as a threat.

Who is going to win immunity?

Depending on the type of challenge that is being played for immunity, I think the biggest contenders will be Sebastian, Chris, Wendell, and Michael. Since this week seems to be focusing on Chris and Dom battling it out, I don’t think Chris wins. So that brings it down to Sebastian, Wendell, and Michael. For the heck of it, I will guess Wendell wins this first immunity challenge unless the challenge is in the water, then I will guess Sebastian wins it.

Will there be a reward on Ghost Island?

I’m going to go on a whim here and suspect that there are about 3-4 more advantages to be found on Ghost Island as we still have nine more urns to get smashed. Since there was an advantage found last week, I don’t think one will be found this week.

Who is going home?

Since Dom has one idol and the Legacy Advantage, I think he is safe. He can play it easy and throw out the Legacy Advantage since he can only use it at two specific times in the game. He has been gunning for Chris since Day 1, so I’d assume he’d use the advantage if it means getting Chris out.

Winner Prediction After Episode 7

The edit this season is throwing me off when it comes to trying to predict who will win because when you notice someone is playing hard and getting a good edit, they end up going next. I said Laurel last week but we haven’t seen too much of her in the last two episodes. So at this point, I want to say Wendell but I’ve been enjoying him this season, and I’m scared if I pick him, he will go home soon.

That’s it for this week! Thanks for checking out ‘Next Time…’ and if you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comment section below.

  1. Morgan is still relevant to the narrative… which makes me think the Legacy Advantage gets played and, in spirit, Morgan gets her vengeance. And a return ticket to Survivor, hopefully, given how the edit keeps mentioning her. Yeah, I’m still salty, but am sane (thanks again for helping calm me down that night).

My pick to leave is thus the Libster.
