Next Time On Survivor – Episode 7

Steph Lauw makes her predictions for the next episode!

CBS

Welcome to Season 48’s Next Time On Survivor weekly feature on the Inside Survivor site! If you’re new around here, I’m Steph from sunny, tropical, humid Singapore. This is a tiny space where I give my best attempts at understanding preview trailers and make my predictions for the show’s next episodes.

From the preview trailers and press photos of the coming episode, we can gather that the remaining 12 players will be split into two teams for the immunity challenge. Following what has happened in previous new era seasons, they are most likely headed for a split tribal where two players will be voted out.

Scrutinising one of the press photos in particular, we can make out that this will be team divisions: On the orange team are Star, Mitch, Chrissy, Joe, Eva, and Sai. And on the purple team, there’s David, Kyle, Kamilla, Shauhin, Mary, and Cedrek.

The orange team will be interesting to watch, especially because Sai is on it, bringing us her dramatic responses. She’s been receiving votes at every tribal council she’s attended and was the second target in the last episode, causing her to remark in the NTOS trailer, “These people are absolutely obsessed with me.”

Sai has been very vocal about wanting to vote Eva and Chrissy out—both of whom will be on the same team as her. I think she’ll be actively campaigning to target them, reminding everyone that Eva has an immunity idol, and that Chrissy cannot be trusted.

However, I don’t think Sai will be the player running this tribal council. There looks to be a pretty strong alliance of players from the former Lagi tribe—Joe, Star, Eva. I think it’s more likely that they’ll have their choice between Mitch or Chrissy, roping Sai in to vote with them.

For the purple team, we got a preview of what’s to come in the NTOS trailer, which emphasises the alliance between Kyle and Kamilla. As Kyle comments, “We are the most undercover duo this game has ever seen,” since they have been keeping a distance to prevent others from knowing they are close and working together.

In their discussion, Kamilla states, “We’re gonna frame Shauhin.” I think this will force Kyle to choose between his alliance with Kamilla or his newer merge alliance with the physical threats—Eva, David, Shauhin, and Joe.

Next, in another trailer, we hear Shauhin saying in a confessional, “We got a problem, we need to figure it out.” I think this seems to be in response to Kamilla’s (and Kyle’s?) potential plan to frame Shauhin. He probably heard wind from Mary and Cedrek, who don’t seem to be aligned tightly with anyone. I predict that Kamilla will try to get the two players on board with her plan to blindside Shauhin, but they will turn the votes against her instead.

Previously, the four players on the swapped Vula tribe—Joe, Shauhin, Kyle, and Kamilla—agreed to work together moving forward. However, I can’t see this happening as I believe Shauhin will always be cautious because of the blindside that Kamilla and Kyle pulled sending Thomas home. At the same time, I believe Shauhin has better connections with the Lagi tribe and the physical threats alliance that seem to be less circumstantial and longer-lasting.

To summarise, my prediction for the next episode is that we’ll see another Civa casualty from the orange team with either Mitch or Chrissy going home. It’s a pity as it seems they’re just on the wrong side of the numbers, with their Civa alliance slowly dwindling. On the purple team, I think we’ll see Shauhin getting the better of Kamilla and voting her out instead.

  1. I’m not sure we will lose 2 this week. Usually it is said in the NTOS trailer. I think it might be two teams and one is safe and the other half is at risk, weather only one side votes or both I don’t know. With orange losing someone.

If we do lose 2: On orange, I think your thought that they pull in Sai is possible and they vote out Chrissy. But I also wouldn’t be surprised if they all got together and finally vote out Sai. We should also keep in mind that Mitch has an advantage.

On Purple. I disagree completely. I don’t think Kamilla goes after Shauhin. I think the frame Shauhin thing is more likely something like they tel cedrek that Shauhin is voting for him so that he votes for Shauhin and not them. While David, Kyle, Kamilla and Shauhin vote for Cedrek. Or change Cedrek for Mary.
