Each week Inside Survivor contributor Rob Brodeur will be collecting various Survivor-related statistics and information based on the latest episode of Survivor 50.

Tribes/Cast

  • Kalo is the 6th starting tribe to remain intact until merge and never attend Tribal Council in a season. The others are as follows:
    • Tandang in Philippines
    • Kama in Edge of Extinction
    • Luvu in Survivor 41
    • Nami in Survivor 46
    • Lagi in Survivor 48
      • Tandang is the only tribe of the 6 to have all players make it to the merge, as Kama, Luvu, Nami, Lagi, & Kalo had at least 1 player voted out pre-merge.
  • The post-swap Cila tribe consisted of players that have made it to the final 4 in a season.
    • They also had 5 firemaking challenge losers.
      • Cirie: Panama & AU vs. the World
      • Rick: Edge of Extinction
      • Jonathan: Survivor 42
      • Kamilla: Survivor 48
      • Rizo: Survivor 49
        • The other two players on that tribe, Dee and Charlie, made it to final tribal council without competing in firemaking.
  • The post-swap Cila tribe also had all 3 former On Fire podcast co-hosts, Charlie, Dee, & Rick.
  • No original Cila members were voted out post-swap.
  • Aubry, Chrissy, Coach, Colby, Genevieve, & Tiffany never attended a pre-merge tribal council.
    • This is the first time for all 6 of them that they made it to the merge without attending a pre-merge tribal council.

Immunity Challenge – “Spiral Architect”

  • This challenge was previously used in Survivor 42.
    • Jonathan has competed in this challenge twice, winning once and losing once.
      • Both times he competed in this challenge, he was on an orange tribe, and a blue tribe won.
  • Pre-swap, Cila lost every immunity challenge, while post-swap Vatu lost every immunity challenge.
    • Christian, Ozzy, & Emily lost every tribal immunity challenge.
      • Bobby Jon and Stephenie in Palau, & Denise in Philippines are the only other players to do so.
  • Emily has only won 1 tribal immunity challenge in her Survivor career.
    • She holds the record for 2nd lowest percentage of tribal immunity challenge wins for a returning player, winning only 10% of the tribal immunity challenges she competed in.
      • Survivor 45 – 1 of 5
      • In the Hands of the Fans – 0 of 5
        • The only person who has a lower tribal immunity challenge win percentage is Francesca with 0%
  • The only challenge that Kalo lost this season was the marooning challenge in the premiere episode.
  • This is the first time since the premiere episode of Survivor 41 that two tribes lost a tribal immunity challenge and had to vote someone out.

Confessionals

  • Ozzy had the most confessionals this episode with 9.
  • Chrissy, Genevieve, & Tiffany had 0 confessionals this episode.
    • There have been 12 instances this season of players receiving 0 confessionals in an episode, and 11 of the 12 were women.
      • Rick is the only man this season with an episode in which he had 0 confessionals.
  • Christian currently has the highest confessional count with 35.
  • Tiffany currently has the lowest confessional count with 2.

Tribal Council #1

  • Angelina was voted out 4-1.
  • Angelina is the first player to place 19th in a season since Danni in Winners at War.
  • Angelina received votes at every tribal council she attended this season.
  • Christian is the only David vs. Goliath player left this season.
  • Both original Goliath tribe members (Mike & Angelina) did not reach the merge on their subsequent season, while both original David tribe members (Nick & Christian) did reach the merge on their subsequent season.

Tribal Council #2

  • Charlie was voted out 4-3.
    • He’s the first person to be voted out 4-3 since Jason in Island of the Idols.
    • This was the first tribal council this season where nobody received only 1 vote.
  • Charlie is the first player voted out this season to share a placement with players from the new era, as he placed 18th.
  • Both players voted out this episode made it to final tribal council in their original season
  • This is the first time two players have been voted out on day 11.
  • Tiffany is the only Survivor 46 player left this season.
  • Rick is the first person to vote against Savannah and Rizo in the same season.
  • Rizo received the same number of votes this episode that he did in the entirety of Survivor 49.
  • Vatu & Cila are the only pre-merge tribes to go to tribal council this season.
    • Kalo never lost an immunity challenge.
  • This is the first time Angelina & Charlie have been voted out of Survivor.
    • Jenna & Q are the only players that have been voted out/eliminated this season that have experience being voted out before.
  • Charlie and Angelina are exactly 1 placement apart on their respective original seasons and this season, with Charlie’s placements being 1 place higher than Angelina’s.
    • Charlie: 2nd place on Survivor 46, 18th place on In the Hands of the Fans
    • Angelina: 3rd place on David vs. Goliath, 19th place on In the Hands of the Fans
  • Both players eliminated in this episode were the highest placing person of their gender in their original season.
    • Charlie was the highest placing man on Survivor 46.
    • Angelina was the highest placing woman on David vs. Goliath.
  • Chrissy, Dee, & Joe are the only players left who have never been voted out/eliminated.

Episode Title

  • The episode title “Open Wounds” was said by Christian talking about Ozzy feeling betrayed by being left out of the vote.
    • This is Christian’s 4th episode title in a row.
